In loving memory of Mr. Upali Dharmadasa. A cherished member of the Negombo Cricket Club whose presence will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this sorrowful time. Rest in peace.

A league to promote community leather ball cricket! All the best to the teams!

The Negombo CC Amateur Leather Cricket League has a new starting date of June 13th (due to weather).

Here are the teams confirmed for the first League!

Welcome to the Negombo CC Amateur Cricket League. A leather cricket league made for casual cricket players and teams. To promote community cricket around Negombo and to get more people involved in the sport.
Starting in June, 2026, the inaugural league will have 5 teams, in which each team plays each other once every Saturday (with a rest week per team), in 35 overs per side matches. The top 2 teams after the group stage will play in a Grand Final.
The winning team will get the Champions Trophy and losing team will get the Runners Up Trophy.
There will be no prize money in order to maintain the amateur and casual level of this league.
Group stage matches will be on June 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th & July 4th.
Final will be on July 11th.
Start time for each match is 10am and teams must be ready for the toss by 9.30am.
Matches will be played in Prison Grounds Dalupotha, Albert Peiris Ground Wennappuwa, and any other grounds available in the region.
Scores and stats will be updated online.
Negombo CC will be Sponsoring the Balls, Scorers, and the league coordinator.
Each team has to pay a registration fee of Rs. 60,000/- for the league.
This will cover the Ground Fees & Umpires for the whole tournament.
Further Rules & Regulations will be shared.
As this is a limited tournament, we will be allowing registrations for teams only on a first come, first serve basis.
