This tournament forms an important part of our preparations for the 2026 Asian Games, providing invaluable international exposure as we continue to build a squad capable of competing with Asia’s very best.

This tour is designed to maximise international exposure, strengthen combinations, and accelerate the development of our squad against quality opposition.

🏉 EXTENDED NATIONAL U-19 SQUAD ANNOUNCED

Sri Lanka Rugby is pleased to announce the 140-player Extended National Squad selected by the National Selection Committee for the National Under-19 Rugby World Cup Selection Tournament.

These players have been identified from across the country as part of Sri Lanka Rugby's pathway towards the Asia Rugby Under-19 Championship 2026, which will also serve as the Rugby World Cup Qualifier, to be hosted in Colombo from 15–19 December 2026.

Selection into the extended squad is a significant achievement and reflects the players' performances and potential. The National Under-19 Rugby World Cup Selection Tournament will commence on 19th September following the conclusion of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examinations.

Sri Lanka Rugby congratulates all selected players and wishes them every success as they continue their journey towards representing Sri Lanka on the international stage.
