From Colombo to Bologna, Vidusha Weerasingha is making history as the first Sri Lankan to follow an international rugby pathway in Europe. Representing Bologna Rugby Club at the club level and the University of Bologna — the oldest university in Europe — in both 15s and 7s formats, Vidusha is blazing a trail for Sri Lankan athletes abroad.

A 23-year-old student-athlete, he balances his studies in Economics while competing in one of Italy’s strongest rugby regions, showing that dedication and hard work know no borders. An inspiration for young players, his journey proves that talent and perseverance can take you from school fields in Sri Lanka to European rugby arenas.
