Thurstan Millennium Legends kick off the UGCA Over 40 T20 Tournament in style with a fantastic victory in our opening match 💙💛

Our first tournament match is tomorrow, Sunday, 26th July. It is the morning match and starts at 9.00 AM at Irrigation Grounds, Rathmalana.

🏏 Thurstan Millennium Legends vs Green Cricket Club 🏏

Thurstan Millennium Legends marked an impressive 6 wicket victory over Green Cricket Club at St. Anthony’s Grounds on 21st June. TML produced a disciplined bowling performance to restrict Green Cricket Club to 133/7 in their 15 overs. Sanath Aponso led the attack brilliantly with outstanding figures of 4 wickets for 17 runs, while Gihan De Silva chipped in with 2 important wickets and Shanaka De Silva added another wicket. The bowlers were well supported by the entire team in the field as the opposition was kept under pressure throughout their innings despite a fighting 61 from Irsad P.

In reply, Thurstan Millennium Legends chased down the target comfortably, reaching 134/4 in just 13 overs. Sanath Aponso stole the show with a sensational unbeaten 61 off just 27 deliveries, including seven massive sixes, while Kanchana Perera played an unbeaten knock of 45 runs, anchoring the innings. Their match winning partnership ensured that the target was achieved with two overs to spare, sealing a comprehensive victory for the Legends.

A superb all round team effort and another memorable win for Thurstan Millennium Legends. Congratulations to the entire squad and supporters who continue to stand behind the team.
