Numbers never tell the whole story.

They don’t show the early mornings, the hard conversations, the setbacks, or the moments when nobody was watching.

But every one of these numbers represents someone who chose to keep showing up.

We are incredibly proud of what this team achieved at not only Nationals, but every meet throughout the year. Not just because of the titles or records, but because of the character our swimmers continue to show every single day.

To our athletes, coaches, parents and supporters—thank you for making Killer Whale Aquatics what it is.

We celebrate these achievements today, and tomorrow we get back to work.

One Team. One Family. 🫍 💚

Muhammad strikes again! ⚡️

He breaks Kiran Jasinghe’s 100m Breaststroke National Record in a blistering time of 1:04.40. 🙌

Muhammad now owns 5 of the 6 Breaststroke records across LCM and SCM. Congratulations Muhammad! 🇱🇰

We are grateful to Zahira College, Colombo for understanding the importance of Muhammad swimming for the club that he trains with at Nationals, and being so committed to his further development after initiating his swimming career and putting him on the right path.

KWA Girls A team comprising of from L to R Thenuki Subasinghe, Aavya Amarasinghe, Ruhi Abeyratne and Githsara Panapitiya won the gold medal in the Jr. National 4x100 Freestyle Relay.

Success at junior levels is not our focus as we tend to take a long-term view to an athletes development. Hence, successes such as this is even sweeter because we know what's to come in the future for these young athletes.

Here they are with KWA Head Age Group Coach Masood Mohamed, the architect of their success.

Congratulations girls for a fantastic achievement!

Congratulations coach and our heartfelt appreciation for you always putting your swimmers success first!!

Go KWA!!!!!!

Jayden De Silva and Hashel Senarath both swam their second international finals of their careers and of the meet.

Jayden finished 7th in the 15-16 Boys 200m Butterfly final with a time of 2:12.97. This is Jayden’s TENTH race of the meet already in just 3 days of competition. Crazy racing! Congratulations Jayden!!

KWA silver group member Hashel Senerath becomes the 3rd member of KWA to make an individual final at the Asian Age Group Swimming Championships.

This is Hashels first international meet, and first time representing Sri Lanka. After finishing a heartbreaking 9th yesterday in the 100m Butterfly to miss the final by 1 place, Hashel bounced back today to make the final. He placed 8th in the final, just off his PB that he did in the morning with a 28.00. Congratulations Hashel! We are so proud of you. Go KWA, go Sri Lanka!! 🇱🇰 🇱🇰🫍🫍

Two of our Elite Group members, MF Muhammad .f_mxhxmmxd and Jayden De Silva advanced to the finals of the Men’s 100m Butterfly in the 17-18 and 15-16 Age Groups respectively.

Muhammad finished in a time of 54.94, winning the silver medal in his age group and becoming the first Sri Lankan medalist at these championships. This is just off his PB, set at the national selection trial two months ago.

Jayden finished with a new PB, breaking the 57 barrier for the first time with a time of 56.98 and placed 7th overall in his age group.

This was the first international final either of these young men have raced in, and it is Muhammad’s first international medal. Well done boys! Great swims. Way to represent the Lion Flag! 🇱🇰🙌

Our Elite Group member tested positive for Influenza A earlier this week.

Given the time period indicated to him by his doctors that he should take to rest and recover, he has decided to medically withdraw from the 2026 Commonwealth Games. In doing so, he hopes his spot will be given to the next highest ranked swimmer.

His health and recovery come first. Wishing you a strong and complete recovery Kyle 💙
