Ranking Ceremony

The 58th F3A World Cup 2026 in Liechtenstein is over. The 6 pilots who flew the final round had very challenging conditions with strong and gusty crosswinds.

Tetsuo ONDA from Japan showed the best flight under these conditions. He won the competition with the maximum of 3000 points. Rank 2 was awarded to Yuhei SUZUKI also from Japan. He scored 2937.83 points. And in Rank 3 is Lassi NURILA from Finland with 2930.83 points. Congratulation to all of you!!!

The cups were awarded to the pilots by H.S.H. Hubertus of Liechtenstein.

Our president Daniel Schierscher guided through the ranking ceremony and thanked all the judges and jury members for their effort over the whole weekend. A special thank you was said to Emil GIEZENDANNER. He informed us, that this year he served as a member of the jury for the last time. In total, he attended our competition 33 times. First, 17 times as a pilot, then 16 times as a member of the jury. Thank you very much for this huge contribution to this competition.

In his speech, Emil pointed out the long history of this competition. This year was the 58th edition. This was only possible due to the family Matt who was alway very successful in competitions all over the world and the many helpers who always supported the competition, but also our club, the Modellfluggruppe Liechtenstein (MFGL).

After that, lady luck Selina drew the rank of every pilot and they were allowed to pick their prize.

We hope, that everybody, not only pilots but also helpers and spectators, enjoyed the competition and also their stay with us here in Liechtenstein. We wish everybody a nice and safe trip back home and hope that we will see all of you again next year at the 59th F3A World Cup 2027 in Liechtenstein.

Thank you to Alberto CANTU. I ranked in position 7 and agreed to do the calibration flight for the judges. In the final round, the F-27 will be flown. This programm is much more challenging. Especially, in the current conditions. The temperature is warm, but the wind is strong and gusty.

Competition is running smoothly

So far, everthing is running well. The conditions for the pilots are quite good with some light wind from the southwest. There are also some high clouds which keep the temperature at a quite comfortable level.

Our kittchen is currently getting prepared for lunch. They offer drinks, hot and cold meals, some sweets and icecream. Maybe there is even some dessert left from yesterday evening.

Good morning

As planned, Christian Niklass started round 3 this morning. The conditions are calm and we are looking forward to a great day.

The weather conditions might be a bit tricky. After lunch there might be quite some wind, but we don't expect any rain or thunderstorms before the end of the competition.

Tasty barbecue and huge dessert buffet

In the evening we organized Poldi Schurte from the Sauguet Anstalt and he prepared a great barbecue with many different types of meat, a salad buffet and french fries. It seems that everybody enjoyed it and found something he liked.

Because there were almost 100 people who wanted to enjoy the dinner, lady luck, Miho from Japan, draw the order in which the people on the different tables could pick up their meal.

But there was more to come. As a tradition, the club members and their wives prepared a huge dessert buffet. There was something for every taste.

Tomorrow, the competition will start at 7:30 with round 3. The first pilot will be Christian Niklass.

Round 1 and 2 finished

A bit ahead of schedule, all pilots could finish their flights for round 1 and 2. After those two rounds the ranking is:

1. Tetsuo ONDA (JPN)
2. Lassi NURILA (FIN)
3. Yuhei SUZUKI (JPN)

But will these pilots be able to defend or even improve their position? Tomorrow, all pilots will fly round 3 in front of all eight judges. After that, six pilots will fly the F-27 in a final round.

Group photo

After all 39 pilots had finished their first flight we used the short break to make a group photo. For the photo all pilots gathered on the runway and we took some pictures with our drone.

This weekend, the 58th F3A World Cup Liechtenstein will take place on our airfield.

At 7:15 all pilots, judges and jury members were welcomed by Daniel Schierscher, our president, to this year's competition. Afterwards, the contest director, Nick Schädler, informed about the procedures during the competition, the rules and gave some specific information about our airfield.

Directly afterwards, Mathias Bossard took off for the calibration flight. This way, all judges could get used to the airfield and prepare themselves for the competition. The first pilot in the competition was Aron Szepfalvi.
