Celebrating a Legacy of Service and Community ⛵❤️

Some people leave a legacy through years of service. Others leave a legacy through family. Every great club is built on the people who give it its heart.

The Shingleton-Smith family has long been woven into the fabric of the St. Lucia Yacht Club and Saint Lucia's sailing community. Through her parents and brothers, Rosalind "Impy" Milner grew up immersed in the friendships, traditions, and spirit of the Club. Continuing her family's longstanding connection, Impy has dedicated herself to ensuring every member, sailor, and visitor feels welcome. Her warmth, genuine hospitality, and kindness have helped create the welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of community that so many have come to know and love.

In 2016, Impy assumed responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the St. Lucia Yacht Club, continuing her family's tradition of service with professionalism and compassion. Whether welcoming visiting yachts, supporting Mango Bowl Regattas, assisting members and guests, decorating the Club for Christmas with a tree from her own garden, or simply greeting everyone with her signature smile, she has always gone above and beyond to make the Club feel like home.

Her impact extends far beyond the Yacht Club. Her GIMIES Award for Excellence in Tourism is a fitting recognition of the exceptional hospitality and genuine care she has shown to countless visitors to Saint Lucia.

Today, we celebrate not only an extraordinary member of our team, but a remarkable woman whose kindness, leadership, and generosity have become part of the history and spirit of the St. Lucia Yacht Club.

Our Youth Sailing Programme continues every Saturday throughout the summer, giving young sailors the opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy time on the water with experienced instructors.
