Chillies powered their way into the finals with a strong performance against Paramount, setting up a convincing victory after batting first. An impressive team effort with both bat and ball sealed the win, with Amiel Bryan earning Man of the Match honors for his outstanding bowling display.
After being put in to bat, Chillies posted a competitive 215/7 in 35 overs. The innings was built on useful contributions throughout the lineup. Chamindu Dilshan top-scored with a composed 35 off 34 balls, while Sachin Diwangana gave the innings early momentum with a quick 30 off 17 deliveries, including 2 sixes and 3 fours. Raman Dhiman added a patient 30, and Anubhav Dhar chipped in with 22, helping Chillies maintain a steady scoring rate despite losing wickets at intervals.
Paramount’s bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, and although they picked up wickets regularly, they couldn’t prevent Chillies from crossing the 200-run mark — a challenging total in a 35-over game.
In reply, Paramount were bowled out for 186 in 29.4 overs. Their innings was dominated by captain Romario Edwards, who played a sensational knock of 84 off just 46 balls, smashing 8 sixes and 5 fours to keep his side in the hunt. However, he lacked consistent support from the rest of the batting lineup. Jermaine Lewis (36*) and Alistair Ifill (31) made contributions, but regular wickets stalled the chase.
The turning point came through a brilliant spell from Amiel Bryan, who ripped through Paramount’s batting with figures of 4/16 in 5 overs. His control and wicket-taking ability in the middle overs broke the backbone of the chase. He was well supported by Anubhav Dhar (2/30) and Larry Gomes (2/21), as Chillies maintained pressure throughout.
Ultimately, Paramount fell short by 29 runs, handing Chillies a deserved victory and a place in the finals. With strong performances across departments, Chillies will head into the final full of confidence.
