Here begins our “Discover the Route of Naoero” series! 🇳🇷🏃‍♂️

Over the coming weeks, we’ll take you around the course of the Naoero International Marathon 2027, one section at a time - from the start in Boe, around the entire island, and all the way back to the finish.

Along the way, we’ll introduce some of the places, landscapes and landmarks runners will experience across the 42.195 km journey around Naoero.

First stop: Boe — where the adventure begins. 🌴🌊

We are excited to unveil the official route for the Brave New Nauru International Marathon 2027!

Starting and finishing near Naoero Olympic Committee Headquarters, runners will complete two full loops around the island with a short extension, experiencing one of the world's most unique marathon courses.

Along the way you'll pass historic WWII landmarks, the Parliament House, the airport, the beautiful Anetan Seawall, and breathtaking coastal scenery all around Naoero.

Along the route you'll discover:
• Naoero Parliament House
• Naoero International Airport
• Command Ridge
• WWII Memorial Monument
• Anetan Seawall
• WWII Japanese Bunker (Anabar)
• WWII Japanese Bunker (Anibare Bay)

With almost all of the spots taken and less than 6 months to go, we are getting closer every day to making history by hosting Naoero's first international marathon.

We are excited to unveil the official route for the Brave New Kiribati International Marathon 2027!

Starting in the heart of Betio, runners will experience one of the world's most unique marathon route, passing historic WWII landmarks, the iconic Nippon Causeway, the New Zealand High Commission, the National Stadium, and breathtaking views across South Tarawa.

Along the route you'll discover:

Red Beach
Betio Memorial
WWII Japanese Gun
Nippon Causeway
Bairiki Square & National Stadium
Betio Port
