KDA JOINS KMPDU IN REJECTING PROPOSED HEALTH BILL

The Kenya Dental Association (KDA) joins the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) in calling for the withdrawal of the proposed Medical Practitioners and Dentists (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

While we support effective regulation of healthcare professionals, laws must be evidence-based, legally coherent, practical and focused on protecting the public.

KDA believes existing legal and regulatory frameworks are sufficient to uphold professional standards and address malpractice.

We therefore call for the withdrawal of the Bill and urge Parliament to consider stakeholder concerns in strengthening Kenya’s healthcare system.
