The chamomile hasn't flowered yet.
But Rosie leaned in, crushed a leaf between her fingers, and smiled.
"That's good," she said. "Really good."
She's been doing this a long time. She knows the difference.
We walked the whole garden together this week. Thyme, oregano, basil, the herb beds that feed Kijiko's kitchen twice a week, fresh on Tuesdays and Fridays. She approved. Quietly, the way people do when something is working.
There's something coming to the kitchen soon. We're not quite ready to talk about it yet.
But the garden is ready.

I will be honest. Running this place is hard work every single day.
