Did you know you can make your own fermented organic fertilizer using locally available materials? Bokashi manure is an eco-friendly, cost-effective way to improve soil fertility, boost beneficial microorganisms, and grow healthier crops.

Here's how to make Bokashi manure:

Step 1: Gather your materials:

Farmyard manure
Charcoal dust
Bran
Molasses
Yeast
Water
Rock dust or wood ash
Rice husks (optional)

Step 2: Lay farmyard manure as the first layer.

Step 3: Add charcoal dust and bran evenly.

Step 4: Mix water, molasses, and yeast separately.

Step 5: Sprinkle the liquid mixture over the heap while turning it thoroughly.

Step 6: Check the moisture—it should form a ball when squeezed without dripping water.

Step 7: Ferment for 14 days, turning the heap morning and evening for the first 7 days, then once daily until day 14.

After fermentation, Bokashi is ready to enrich your soil. Remember not to place it directly in contact with seeds or roots, as it is still partially decomposed.
