Congratulations to Justin Ngeera of VetLab Sports Club, who won the Overall Boys’ title with a three-round total of 225 (+9), and Maryam Mwakitawa of Sigona Golf Club, who claimed the Overall Girls’ title with 248 (+32) at the 3rd NCBA Western Junior Open at Kakamega Sports Club.

A big congratulations to all the age-category winners, runners-up and every junior who competed over the three days. Your commitment, resilience and competitive spirit made the tournament a great success.

We also extend our appreciation to the clubs, parents, coaches, officials, volunteers and Kakamega Sports Club for supporting the juniors and making the event possible.

Justin Ngeera of VetLab Sports Club fired an impressive 1-under-par 71 in Round 2 to move to 149 (+5) and take the Boys’ lead, ahead of Myles Wahome and Peter Gathogo. In the Girls’ category, Maryam Mwakitawa of Sigona Golf Club produced the standout turnaround of the day, carding an excellent even-par 72 after an opening 87 to take the lead on 159 (+15), ahead of Britney Nyanchera and Aarna Mengi.

With the top 33 and ties advancing, the stage is set for an exciting final round at Kakamega Sports Club, as the juniors battle for the Overall Boy and Overall Girl titles.

⛳ The 3rd NCBA Western Junior Open is underway! 🏆

The action has teed off at Kakamega Sports Club, with 39 of Kenya’s promising junior golfers battling it out over three rounds from 21st–23rd August 2026.

With 25 boys and 14 girls representing 10 clubs, the juniors are competing for the coveted Overall Boy and Overall Girl titles, while also earning points towards the JGF Order of Merit.

The event is also a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event, adding another layer of significance to the competition.

The 3rd NCBA Western Junior Open is part of NCBA’s Title Sponsorship of the Junior Golf Foundation and one of the five regional junior events on the 2026 calendar.
