MANDERA COUNTY HAS A LEADERSHIP/DEVELOPMENT PRIORITY PROBLEM AND NOT A RESOURCE PROBLEM

Look at the total figure of 202 Billion that Mandera County recieved between 2013 to 2025. That is all funds recieved combined from Devolution Share, CDF for each of the 6 Constituencies in Mandera County and Donor Fund's from multiple Donor Agencies.

Which now brings us that what we have in Mandera County same as the other counties in Northern Kenya is a Leadership/Development Priority problem and NOT a resource problem. The resources are there to sort out the Development Gaps of our people but are instead used for the wrong purposes as the masses suffer self inflicted marginalisation by their own leaders and decision makers. The era of crying about Marginalisation ended in March 2013 when Devolved System of Governance started.

THE BIG QUESTION:- Does the Kshs. 202 Billion in Funds recieved in Mandera County by the Mandera County Government and the CDF of the 6 Constituencies from 2013 to 2025 reflect on the ground?...

Congratulations to Hon. Ahmed Maalim Hassan (Engineer Barre) the newly elected MP of Banissa Constituency

I hereby take this opportunity to congratulate Hon. Ahmed Maalim Hassan (Engineer Barre) on taking the oath of office as the new Member of Parliament for Banissa Constituency. His swearing-in marks a joyous and pivotal moment for the constituency.

This victory is particularly significant. For nearly two years the people of Banissa navigated a challenging period without direct parliamentary representation following the untimely passing of the dedicated former MP Hon. Kullow Maalim Hassan in April 2023. His death left a void in the 13th Parliament and stalled crucial development projects and initiatives that would have changed many lives.

By securing a decisive mandate in the 27th November 2025 by-election you have answered the community's call for leadership. The people of Banissa Constituency have placed in you to champion their interests in Nairobi. Your journey to this seat demonstrates remarkable resilience overcoming legal challenges to secure your candidacy. As you begin your term the focus now turns to the future In Shaa Allah.

The vast and mountainous Banissa Constituency which is a key part of Mandera County bordering Ethiopia has immense potential. Its economy like much of the county is anchored in pastoralism and the people look to you to advocate for their unique needs regarding development, security and support for their livelihoods In Shaa Allah.

Congratulations once again Hon. Engineer Barre. May your tenure be fruitful and bring progress and sustainable development for the people of Banissa constituency In Shaa Allah.

Best wishes in the new leadership role that comes with immense responsibilities and huge expectations. May Allah ease it for you and grant you the wisdom and the blessings to lead Banissa Constituency to better days and a better future for it's people In Shaa Allah.

CONTINOUS VOTER REGISTRATION 2025 (CVR): URGING POTENTIAL FIRST TIME VOTERS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE ONGOING VOTER REGISTRATION EXERCISE AND PARTICIPATE IN PLAYING A KEY ROLE AS VOTERS IN THE UPCOMING 2027 GENERAL ELECTIONS

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has resumed the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across Kenya and aims to register an estimated 6 Million new voters. The IEBC particularly targeting young people who have recently turned 18 ahead of the 2027 General Election. The exercise began on Monday 29th September 2025.

I hereby urge the youth of Mandera County who are residents within Mandera County or living in other parts of the country where they are studying or working especially those who are not registered voters to make every possible effort to register as voters and shape the democratic processes in the upcoming General Elections in August 2027 - In Shaa Allah.

The ongoing Continuous Voter Registration 2025 (CVR) provides several services including new voter registration, transfer of voter registration to a new polling station or constituency and correction/update of voter details.

Where to register: Registration is taking place at the IEBC Constituency offices across all the 290 Constituencies.

NB: So far there are reports that indicate a low turnout in the first week of the registration exercise in many parts of the country. The IEBC has acknowledged this challenge. Many potential voters including youth have pointed out that requiring people to travel to constituency offices is a significant barrier.

There are calls for the IEBC to devolve the ongoing voter registration exercise further to Ward levels or other more accessible locations to improve large scale participation which will possibly happen during the Mass Voter Registration exercise end of 2026 - In Shaa Allah.

MY PEOPLE OF MANDERA COUNTY: IT IS NOW TIME FOR US TO STAND UP FOR PUBLIC INTERESTS AND DEMAND FOR WHAT WE RIGHTFULLY DESERVE FROM THIS GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY OF DEVOLUTION

Councillor Haji Barre a prominent elder in Rhamo and a former Councillor has spoken his mind without any fear or favor... And truth be told this is what our entire society in Mandera County should be... Those who have a powerful voice of influence to advocate for development and social transformation should always put the interests of the masses ahead of their own interests. DONT attach your interests to the politicians in office while ignoring the plight of the masses. Speak out and demand for things to change or else you will see the masses suffering around you everyday...

REALITY CHECK:- When some of us speak out tunaambiwa ya kwamba hatujui mambo ya ground. Sasa ndio hii Mzee mashuhuri ya Rhamo town ameongelelea issues ya ground right Infront of the Governor... When some of us speak out and demand for Accountability sio ati we have issues against the Governor. Our objectives is on Public Interest. The Governor is in public office to serve the masses and he will leave when his time comes In Shaa Allah be it in 2027 or in 2032 In Shaa Allah. His Governorship is the wish of Allah and he will leave office when Allah wills In Shaa Allah..

FACT IS THAT leaders will come go and the public offices being held up by those in office today will be held by other's in years to come In Shaa Allah... It is the office they hold that we are questioning and not them as personalities. If they were NOT holding those offices and were walking on the streets freely we wont have anything to question them about. So any leader holding a Public Office should be Ready, Willing and Able (RWA) to subject himself/herself to scrutiny and deliver on their responsibilities to account for their mandate and the funds under the offices.

IT IS NOW TIME TO SPEAK OUT ABOUT THE ISSUES AFFECTING OUR MASSES... EVERYONE WHO HAS SEEN ISSUES ON THE GROUND SHOULD COME OUT OPENLY AND BOLDLY AND SPEAK OUT IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF OUR MASSES.....

A SOCIETY OF WARRIORS CAN SUCCEED AND REACH FAR BUT A SOCIETY OF COWARDS WON'T EVEN MAKE IT ANYWHERE CLOSER TO THE BATTLEFIELD..... OUR BATTLE TO SPEAK OUT WITHOUT FEAR OF FAVOUR IS IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE MASSES TO ADVOCATE AND LOBBY PRUDENT USE OF PUBLIC FUNDS TO INITIATE GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT, SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION, IMPROVED SERVICE DELIVERY AND EMPOWERMENT OF MARGINALIZED GROUPS (YOUTH, WOMEN AND PWD'S).
