Our people have suffered devastating losses following a fire outbreak today night in Shauri area of Embu Town. Property worth millions of shillings has been destroyed, leaving many traders without livelihoods.

We strongly condemn the lack of preparedness and failure by the Embu County Government Emergency Response Department. The fire could have been contained in time, but negligence and delayed response allowed it to spread, worsening the damage.

At this difficult moment, we appeal to well-wishers and people of goodwill to support the affected traders so they can rebuild and return to business as soon as possible.
