France are flying into the World Cup semifinals.
Mbappé and Dembélé lit up the night as Les Bleus defeated Morocco and booked their place in the last four.
Kylian Mbappé continues to make history with 20 World Cup goals in 20 career games at just 27 years old; a record that places him among the tournament’s greatest performers.
And Ousmane Dembélé is in red-hot form, with 5 goals in his last 5 World Cup matches. When these two are on fire, France look almost unstoppable.
For Morocco, this marks the end of an incredible journey. The Atlas Lions carried the hopes of Africa with pride, courage, and unforgettable performances on football’s biggest stage.
As a football lover, I have to say: France are operating on another level right now. But Morocco leave this tournament with their heads held high and the respect of the world.

Yassine Bounou is doing it again.
When Morocco needed a hero, Bono stepped up and denied Mbappé from the spot with nerves of steel. The Atlas Lions refuse to bow, while France keep knocking on the door.
0-0 at halftime. One save. One moment. One nation dreaming.
Now the question is: who cracks first; the Moroccan wall or the French giants?

Old Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka is still writing history. Switzerland are through to the World Cup quarter-finals after edging past Colombia. Now it's Argentina vs Switzerland for a place in the semi-finals.
To be honest, I still don't think either Switzerland or Colombia looked convincing. I kept asking myself how both teams made it this far because the quality wasn't great. But football isn't always about flashy performances; sometimes it's simply about finding a way to win. Or should I say that But football doesn't reward opinions; it rewards results. 😂
Now Xhaka's Switzerland face the ultimate test against the reigning champions.

From 2-0 up... to packing their bags. Football can be unbelievably ruthless.
Argentina were down, written off, and staring at elimination... then they flipped the script in breathtaking fashion to complete a stunning 3-2 comeback and storm into the World Cup quarter-finals.
I won't lie; I expected much more from Egypt. Leading by two goals in a World Cup knockout match should have been enough. I believed our North African brothers had the mentality to see it through... but football showed no mercy today.
The reigning champions reminded everyone why champions are never truly beaten until the final whistle. What a comeback. What a statement.

THE RED DEVILS ARE BREATHING FIRE.
De Ketelaere turned the World Cup into his own stage, Lukaku found the net again, Trossard of Arsenal sprinkled his magic, and the USA were swept aside without mercy.
Now Belgium march into a mouthwatering collision with Spain into the World Cup Quarter- Finals.

Spain are marching on, but as an Arsenal fan, one moment hit differently. Mikel Merino marked his return from injury with a priceless goal as La Roja sent Portugal packing. Big players deliver on the biggest stage.

Sleep knocked me out before Mexico did.
I stayed up ready for Mexico vs England, but sleep had other plans. The next thing I knew, Jude Bellingham had scored twice in just 99 seconds, Harry Kane had done what Harry Kane does best, and Mexico's World Cup dream was over.
There's an old saying back home: "Even a mad person can be defeated by sleep." Last night, I became living proof. I completely missed what sounds like one of the best games of the tournament.
Congratulations, Three Lions. You're gathering momentum at the perfect time...
So, is football finally coming home?

As an Arsenal fan, there was only one team I was backing today, Norway. With Martin Ødegaard leading from the front, the Vikings delivered a performance worthy of the history books.
Brazil's reliance on counterattacks and wide play wasn't enough against a disciplined Norwegian side that controlled the game with patience, composure, and intelligent build-up.
Erling Haaland once again proved why he's one of the most feared strikers in world football, while Neymar's dream of a fairytale farewell ended in heartbreak.
Norway have done what many thought was impossible; eliminating Brazil and reaching their first-ever FIFA World Cup quarterfinal. This is why we love football. Reputation doesn't win matches; courage, teamwork, and belief do.
Congratulations, Norway. The Vikings are no longer just making history; they're rewriting it.

Google Photos just reminded me where part of this incredible journey began.
Seven years ago, I had the privilege of serving as a committee member during the CECAFA Kagame Cup Tournament in the Land of a Thousand Hills, thanks to the confidence and opportunity given to me by Mr. Nick Musonye.
Looking back, I'm reminded that football has been more than just a game; it has been my passport across Africa, opening doors, building friendships, and creating memories I'll cherish forever. Forever grateful for every opportunity and everyone who believed in me.

France march on, but Kylian Mbappé keeps stealing the headlines. 19 World Cup games. 19 goals. That's not form; that's greatness.
One goal was enough to sink Paraguay, send Les Bleus into the quarterfinals, and set up a mouthwatering clash with Morocco. Africa meets Europe. I can't wait.
