Today, Lynn Nwagbara, Director of AE Europe, accompanied by Rev. Carlton, Board Chair of AE Europe, and his wife Shannon Deal, visited the Soweto-Kayole Primary Healthcare Clinic and the Women's Empowerment Program in Kibera.

Their visit began at the Soweto-Kayole clinic, where staff shared the remarkable progress made in transforming the facility's maternity wing. Recently accredited by the Social Health Authority (SHA), the clinic can now operate as a fully-fledged maternity unit.

For many years, expectant mothers received antenatal care at the clinic but were referred elsewhere to give birth. With the new accreditation, mothers can now access comprehensive maternity services closer to home, bringing safer deliveries, improved maternal care, and greater peace of mind for families in the community.

The visitors also donated clothes for newborn babies, a thoughtful gesture that reflected their support for mothers and the growing maternity program.

The delegation later spent time in Kibera, where they met 18 women enrolled in a tailoring and skills-training program. During an interactive session, the women shared their aspirations of completing the training and establishing small businesses to support their families and build sustainable livelihoods.

Moved by their determination and creativity, the guests purchased handwoven bags crafted by the women. Their support not only celebrated the women's talent but also provided practical encouragement as they work toward economic independence.

As the visit drew to a close, Rev. Carlton took time to pray for both projects, lifting up the beneficiaries and the leaders who serve them. He prayed for God's provision, wisdom, and continued blessing upon the clinic staff, the women in training, and the families whose lives are being impacted through these initiatives.
