CLARIFICATION ON KUPPET WELFARE (SWA) DEDUCTIONS.

Dear Colleagues,

We have noticed confusion among some teachers regarding the descriptions appearing on their payslips, particularly "SWA H/B" and "SWA NA." We would like to clarify the difference.

Initially, recruitment into the Branch Benevolent Fund (BBF) was managed at the branch level.

Each branch customized its own BBF contributions, that's why many teachers' payslips reflected "KUPPET SWA H/B."

Later, the KUPPET National Office harmonized the welfare contribution and standardized it at KSh 200 for all members across the country.

Following this centralization, the description on many payslips changed to "KUPPET 200 SWA NA."

So many teachers have become concerned, thinking that seeing "KUPPET 200 SWA NA" means they are no longer attached to their branch.

This is not the case. The National Office collects the harmonized contributions and remits the appropriate percentage back to the respective branches.

Therefore, members of KUPPET Homa Bay County should not be worried.

The only thing you need to confirm is that your branch affiliation in the system is Homa Bay County. If it is not, kindly inform your Principal so that your details can be updated in the system to reflect Homa Bay County.
