Tigst Assefa from Ethiopia has successfully defended her TCS London Marathon title, once again surpassing her own women's-only marathon world record with a time of 2:15:41.

She has improved upon the record she established at this very event last year by a remarkable 9 seconds.

History has been made.

Sabastian Sawe has become the first individual to ever surpass the 2-hour mark under official race conditions, achieving a remarkable time of 1:59:30.

Yomif Kejelcha, in his marathon debut, also completed the race in under 2 hours with an impressive 1:59:41, and Jacob Kiplimo recorded a time of 2:00:28, which is also faster than the previous world record.
