Gala exists to make your trip from Tokyo to the snow as easy as possible. Located in Yuzawa, Gala is the only ski resort in the world with it's own Shinkansen (bullet train) station; it takes from as little as 75 minutes to arrive at Gala direct from central Tokyo. The resort's gondola and chairlift give access to over 800 vertical metres of skiable terrain, breathtaking views and of course lots of Japanese powder! To help you enjoy your trip to the resort we have staff that speak many languages including Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) at our information desk. There's also an English speaking ski school and one of the biggest rental shops in Japan. We have everything you need to get out on snow including skis and snowboards, outerwear, goggles, hats and gloves. We also have sled sets available for those who don't feel like skiing or snowboarding but still want to enjoy the snow. You don't need to bring anything with you to experience the snow here at Gala. On top of that there's six restaurants to choose from, a retail shop, a locker room and a spa for relaxing after a long day on the mountain. Not long after saying goodbye to the summer season, GALA Yuzawa is getting ready to return with the beautiful atmosphere of autumn at GALA Autumn Park 2026, open from October 24 – November 8, 2026!

This is the time when the mountains and surrounding nature at GALA slowly transform from summer greenery into colorful autumn foliage. If you want to enjoy the views up close, you can take the Gondola up the mountain and soak in the autumn scenery, along with plenty of fun activities to enjoy!!

Flower Maze: Conquer the Sunflower Maze 🌻✨

This summer, take on a new adventure at GALA Summer Park with Flower Maze, a sunflower maze filled with beautiful Vincent Tangerine sunflowers. These small, low-growing flowers let you get up close and enjoy the cheerful sight of sunflowers blooming under the summer sun, surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains.

Flower Maze is available for a limited time only, from September 19–23, 2026! If you're visiting GALA Summer Park during this time, be sure to stop by and take on the sunflower maze.

Save this route! Driving from Tokyo to GALA Summer Park 2026 — Which way should you go? 🚗 ☀️

Planning a summer trip to Japan and want to escape the city for some fresh mountain air? Why not drive to GALA Yuzawa?
The route from Tokyo is super easy! Simply head toward Yuzawa, take the Yuzawa IC exit, then drive another 3 km to reach GALA Yuzawa.

🛣️ Driving Route from Tokyo:
1. Take the Kan-Etsu Expressway and exit at “Yuzawa IC”
2. Turn right onto National Route 17 toward Niigata
3. Continue driving and look out for the “GALA Entrance” sign
4. Turn left following the sign, then drive a little further to reach GALA Yuzawa

Once you arrive, hop on the Gondola to enjoy the mountain views, breathe in the fresh air, and have fun with a variety of activities surrounded by the lush greenery of GALA Yuzawa. GALA is just as beautiful in summer as it is in winter!
