Kanchō's pilgrimage to Izumo Taisha ("Grand Shrine"), and a visit to Matsue Castle.

In the first week of September, Kanchō traveled to Izumo, Shimane prefecture to visit and pray at Izumo Taisha. Izumo Taisha is one of the oldest, most important shrine, in which Ōkuninushi-no-Ōkami ("great god") is enshrined. Ōkuninushi-no-Ōkami is the god of relationships and agriculture, son (or sixth generation descendent of Susa-no-o. Susa-no-o was the rowdy and aggressive brother of the Sun Goddess, who slayed a dragon and found Kusanagi-no-tsurugi-- sacred sword that is one of the Three Imperial Regalia-- in the dragon's tail.
According to the Kojiki, The Amatsu ("heavenly") gods visited Ōkuninushi-no-Ōkami in Izumo. Historically, Izumo was the first and most significant region that specialized in iron smelting using Tatara, and became the source of military power of the Yamato clan, which united local rulers throughout the land, forming the ancient Japanese state under the imperial house.
The god Susa-no-o and the Amatsu gods are linked to Kumano shrine and the Kuki House.

2026 Barcelona Taikai--Great Success!
The Taikai started with two days of Yūdansha training, followed by a day in Montserrat, and continued to the main event--a four-day intensive training, lectures, and testing. We also had an informal welcoming dinner, a formal welcoming dinner, and finally, a banquet with a wonderful performance of the local Catalonia traditional dance group.

Everybody trained hard with pure sincerity and eagerness to learn and become better. We shared sweat, bruises, pain, tears, and laughter, great Catalonia food, stronger bonds and friendship--all with a strong feeling of achievement.

There are new Bushi, Yondan, Kenjutsu Okuden, Bōjutsu Shoden and Chūden, and Shisen-ha Kotō-ryū Shoden and Kirigami.
Shisenkan also received recognition by the local TV in Barcelona.
Here are a few photos of many hundreds. We will share more photos and videos soon.
