Days 5, 6 & 7 marked the transition from facilitation skills to systems thinking and action.
Participants explored how culture, relationships, and invisible system forces influence coach development in their own contexts. Through systems mapping, gap analysis, collaborative group consultations, and one-on-one mentoring with trainers, they refined their ideas, deepened their reflection, further developed their Adaptive Growth Challenges, and identified the first actions they will take in their own contexts.
We look forward to seeing how their Adaptive Growth Challenges evolve over the coming months.
We can’t wait to reconnect in Week 2 and continue learning together!
Until then... keep swimming! 🐟🌏

Today, each Lead Coach Developer stepped outside their comfort zone, experimented with a new approach to facilitation, and embraced learning through practice.

Coach Developer Program in Colombia 🇨🇴
NCDA had the privilege of delivering a 5-day Coach Developer Program in Bogotá, Colombia, in partnership with Colegio Colombiano de Entrenamiento Deportivo (COCED).
The program brought together 15 Coach Developers from Bogotá, Cundinamarca, and Risaralda, who will play an important role in supporting the development of Coach Developers across their regions.
As participants will begin facilitating the Coach Developer Program in August, they continuously reflected on how the approaches and activities experienced throughout the week could support and address different elements of that program.
One highlight of the week was the delivery of participant-designed one-day Athlete-Centred Coaching workshops for beginners coaches. Working in small teams, participants designed and facilitated creative, learner-centred sessions, demonstrating growing confidence and capability as Coach Developers. Sois increíbles!
During the visit, NCDA and COCED also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), strengthening the partnership and creating new opportunities for future collaboration.
A special thank you to NCDA graduate Sara Vargas, whose efforts over the past few years to connect NCDA with Colombia and made this collaboration possible. Thank you, Sara!
Finally, we sincerely thank COCED, all participants, and everyone involved for their enthusiasm, openness, and commitment throughout the week. We look forward to seeing the impact this first cohort will create in Colombia.
Muchísimas gracias!!
Hasta pronto!
