Nutrient Timing: Does the "Window of Opportunity" Really Exist? | Mysportscience
Carbohydrate and protein timing seem to be more flexible than once thought, while approaches like bicarbonate supplementation may demand much more exact timing. The real challenge isn’t deciding if timing matters, but figuring out when it matters enough to impact performance.

Nutrient timing: Does the "window of opportunity" really exist? Few ideas in sports nutrition have been as influential, or perhaps as widely misunderstood, as the so-called "window of opportunity". During the 1990s the message appeared simple and compelling: consume carbohydrate immediately after exercise, ingest protein within 30 minutes, and avoid missing the....

4 Ways to Making Indoor Riding More Enjoyable | Slowtwitch
Even though we are entering peak outdoor riding season for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, there are increasing numbers of us still staying on the trainer year round. Some of that may be chalked up to road safety, as we see incidents daily between cyclists and drivers. But some of that is also by choice, whether due to thinking that training will be better, or other circumstances.

Triathlon Run Performance as a Percentage of FTP/CP | Palladino Power Project
A common way to estimate race target power is to calculate race power as a percentage of CP or FTP. Triathletes are generally familiar with IF targets for the cycling leg of a triathlon - same thing.

However, the issue with estimating triathlon run leg power targets is that the athlete’s performance capacity relative to their run CP or FTP diminishes with fatigue accumulated from the swim and bike legs. Power targets for the run in a triathlon are always lower than for a corresponding "fresh-legged" run race. For example, an athlete might run a “fresh” marathon at 89% of CP/FTP, and then only hold 76% of CP/FTP for the run leg in a full Ironman (FIM) triathlon. The difference in percentage of CP/FTP that can be held for the run leg in a triathlon versus a fresh run race is going to vary from individual to individual.
