A wonderful instructor from IMPACTO BJJ Korea showed us something truly inspiring at the tournament.

She may be small and charming, but she fought her way all the way to the Open Class Final against competitors of all sizes.

She didn’t get the victory in the final, but what she gave everyone watching was worth far more than a medal.

Courage. Inspiration. And the belief that we can challenge something bigger than ourselves.

That’s one of the most beautiful things about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

You don’t have to be the biggest person.
You don’t have to be the strongest person.

Technique, courage, experience, and the willingness to challenge yourself can take you further than you ever imagined.

What an incredible performance.

身体の大きさと、挑戦する勇気の大きさは関係ない。🥋❤️🇰🇷

IMPACTO BJJ韓国の先生が、今回の大会で本当に素晴らしい姿を見せてくれました。

小柄で可愛らしい女性なのですが、なんと体重無差別級に挑戦。

自分より大きな選手たちがいる中を次々と勝ち上がり、見事、無差別級の決勝戦へ。

惜しくも決勝では敗れてしまいました。

でも、その挑戦する姿が私たちに見せてくれたものは、勝敗以上に大きかったと思います。

「身体が小さくても挑戦できる。」

「自分より大きな相手にも立ち向かえる。」

その姿は、会場にいた多くの人へ感動と勇気を与えてくれました。

ブラジリアン柔術は、身体の大きさや力だけで全てが決まる競技ではありません。

技術を磨き、経験を積み、そして勇気を持って一歩踏み出す。

だからこそ、女性にも、身体の小さな人にも、そして年齢を重ねてから始める人にも、たくさんの可能性があります。

挑戦する人の姿は、誰かの「私もやってみよう」を生み出す。

それこそが、スポーツの素晴らしさなのかもしれません。

本当に素晴らしい試合でした！

Win or lose, every competition teaches us something. 🥋🇰🇷

I competed at an IBJJF tournament in Korea.

We learn when we win.
We learn when we lose.

And beyond the results, competition gives us something even more valuable—new encounters, reunions with old friends, and experiences that help us grow.

Stepping onto the competition mat also requires complete focus.

One small mistake or a moment of poor judgment can lead to injury, so we have to stay calm, think, react, and make decisions under pressure.

That experience itself makes us stronger.

Medals are wonderful, but they are only one part of competition.

Challenge. Experience. Friendship. Growth.

There are so many reasons to compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Once again, Jiu-Jitsu reminded me how amazing this journey truly is.

Thank you to everyone I met and reunited with in Korea!

IBJJF主催の韓国大会に出場してきました。

試合に出ると、勝った時には自信や新しい発見があり、負けた時には自分に足りないものや次に取り組むべき課題が見えてきます。

そして、試合の魅力は勝敗だけではありません。

新しい人との出会い。

久しぶりに会う仲間との再会。

国籍やチームを越えた交流。

試合に挑戦するからこそ得られるものが、本当にたくさんあります。

もちろん、試合は真剣勝負。

一瞬の判断を誤れば怪我につながる可能性もあるからこそ、最後まで集中を切らさず、冷静に考え、瞬間瞬間で判断することが必要になります。

その緊張感の中で自分自身と向き合う経験も、また大きな成長につながります。

メダルや勝敗だけでは測れない、

挑戦、経験、出会い、再会、そして成長。

大人になっても、こんなにも夢中になって挑戦できるものがある。

そして、その挑戦を通じて世界中に仲間が増えていく。

改めて、ブラジリアン柔術は本当に素晴らしいと感じる韓国遠征となりました。

今回出会ってくださった皆様、再会できた皆様、本当にありがとうございました！

This time, I had the opportunity to train at IMPACTO BJJ Korea!

And what made the day even more special was having a friend from China come all the way to see me.

Different countries.
Different languages.
Different cultures.

But once we step onto the mats, none of that matters.

We train together, laugh together, and create memories together.

Every time I travel through Jiu-Jitsu, I’m reminded that the greatest treasure isn’t just the techniques we learn or the medals we win.

It’s the people we meet along the way.

今回は韓国にあるIMPACTO BJJ Koreaで練習させていただきました！🇰🇷

そして中国からも友人が会いに来てくれて、本当に有意義で幸せな時間を過ごすことができました🇨🇳🇯🇵

国籍も違う。

話す言葉も違う。

暮らしている場所も違う。

それでもブラジリアン柔術という共通のものがあるだけで、一緒に練習して、笑って、また会う約束ができる。

柔術を続ければ続けるほど、世界中に仲間や友人が増えていく。

技術を学ぶことや試合で勝つことも柔術の魅力。

でも私にとって、それ以上に大切な財産になっているのが、柔術を通じて出会えた人たちとの繋がりです。

日本から韓国へ。

中国からも仲間が集まり、同じマットの上で笑い合える。

こんな経験ができるブラジリアン柔術は、本当に素晴らしいですね。

What can Jiu-Jitsu give to a child? 🥋

Not just techniques.
Not just physical strength.

Jiu-Jitsu teaches children how to face challenges, how to respect others, and how to keep trying when something doesn’t go their way.

Sometimes they win.
Sometimes they lose.
Sometimes they simply can’t do something yet.

But every time they step onto the mats, they learn something about themselves.

And one day, the child who once said,
“I can’t do it.”
may become the child who says,
“Let me try again.”

That change is more valuable than any medal.

At IMPACTO BJJ Shin-Okazaki, seeing these little moments of growth reminds me why I love teaching Jiu-Jitsu.

Their childhood will pass quickly.

But I hope the confidence, friendships, courage, and memories they build on these mats will stay with them for life. ❤️

子どもがブラジリアン柔術をやる意味って、何だろう。🥋

技を覚えること。

身体が強くなること。

もちろん、それも柔術の素晴らしさです。

でも、子どもたちを指導していると、それ以上に大切なものを柔術から学んでいるように感じます。

思い通りにいかなくても、もう一度やってみる。

負けても、また練習する。

仲間を大切にする。

相手を尊重する。

そして昨日できなかったことが、今日できるようになる。

最初は「できない」と言っていた子が、いつの間にか

「もう一回やってみる！」

と言えるようになる。

そんな瞬間を見るたびに、柔術を教えていて良かったと思います。

メダルや勝敗よりも、もっと大切なもの。

自信、勇気、仲間、そして挑戦する心。

子ども時代は、本当にあっという間です。

でも、このマットの上で経験したことや、一緒に笑った仲間との思い出は、その子が大人になった時にも、きっと人生のどこかで力になってくれる。

Konta from YAWARA, the famous “Sky Dojo” in Tokyo, competed in his very first tournament.

Despite facing a tough bracket filled with international competitors, he stayed calm, trusted his technique, and captured the gold medal.

It was a beautiful reminder that courage and preparation can overcome any challenge.

Watching new competitors take their first steps always reminds me why I fell in love with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

なんと今回が、初めての試合。

それにもかかわらず、外国人選手ばかりが集まる激戦のトーナメントを勝ち抜き、見事に優勝されました！

終始落ち着いた試合運びで、自分の力をしっかりと発揮されていた姿がとても印象的でした。

初めて試合に挑戦する時の緊張や不安。

それを乗り越えて一歩踏み出す姿には、多くの人の心を動かす力があります。

私自身も、その姿を見て**「初めて試合に出た頃の気持ち」**を思い出すことができました。

初心を振り返ることができた、とても素敵な一日。

今田さん、本当に優勝おめでとうございます！

これからのさらなるご活躍も楽しみにしています。
