We were expecting a fresh morning session on the newly resurfaced hard courts. Instead, it was already 32°C. 💦

After plenty of tennis and plenty of sweat, we cooled down in the clubhouse and spent some time chatting with the club staff.

From tennis to art, and back to tennis again.
We love where the game can take us. 🤝

早起きをして、京都東山テニスクラブで陶芸家のDAISAKさんと交流テニス。

新しく塗り替えられたばかりのハードコートで、爽やかなモーニングテニスのつもりが、朝から32℃という過酷なコンディション💦

たっぷり汗をかいた後はクラブハウスでひと休み。クラブのスタッフの皆さんともおしゃべり。

テニスからアートへ。アートからまたテニスへ。
そんなふうに繋がっていくのも、テニスの楽しさ。🤝

ベルギーのTim Van Laere Galleryとアート好きとしても知られるプロテニスプレーヤー Reilly Opelkaから始まった「TVLG ART x TENNIS CLUB」。

今回、そのTVLG ART × TENNIS CLUBとTecnifibreによるコレクションが登場します。

そんなArtとTennisが交わるタイミングで、ずっと訪ねたかった京都の陶芸家 DAISAKさん DAISAK のもとへ。

京丹後にあるアトリエ「H」 H にお邪魔し、作品や制作の様子を見せていただきました。

DAISAKさんもまた、大のテニス好き。

明日は早起きして一緒にテニスをします。

夏の間THE CLUBHOUSEでアルバイトとして働いてくれた秀蔵くんとゆめちゃんがアメリカに帰って行った👋

秀蔵くんの20歳の誕生日を兼ねて、二人の送別会＆テニスをした。

暑さが少しだけ優しくなると、夏の終わりが近いことに気づく。

学生の頃、このまま夏休みがずっと続けばいいのにと毎年思っていた。

アート好きとしても知られるReilly Opelkaと、ベルギー・アントワープのTim Van Laere Gallery。その長年の関係から育まれてきた TVLG ART x TENNIS。

今回、Tecnifibreとのコラボレーションによって、特別なTF40とバッグ、アクセサリーが誕生しました。

ピンクのコスメティックに、ギャラリー所属のアーティスト、Rinus Van de VeldeとFriedrich Kunathによるグラフィック。

そしてそこに刻まれたのは、度重なる怪我と長いリハビリを乗り越えてきたOpelkaを支えた言葉。

“Storms never last.”

アートとテニスから生まれた、特別なコレクション。

Reilly Opelka, known for his passion for art, and Antwerp’s Tim Van Laere Gallery have built a long-standing relationship around art and tennis through TVLG ART x TENNIS.

Now, in collaboration with Tecnifibre, that story takes shape in a special TF40, bags and accessories.

The signature pink cosmetic features artwork by Tim Van Laere Gallery artists Rinus Van de Velde and Friedrich Kunath.

And throughout the collection are the words that stayed with Opelka through years of injuries and recovery:

“Storms never last.”
