We had a wonderful night last night, with many old friends appearing after absences of several months. We hadn't seen Ken Le Claire since the pandemic, who came as our guest with his daughter Gina. Thanks to everyone for making it, and helping to make the evening such a pleasant one.
We were delighted to dance the first set to the fabulous tunes of our good friend, Philip Le Claire, who kindly donated his time to support this evenings raffle charity - Jersey Hospice! A total of £207 was raised for Hospice, in memory of Sandra Kearns, who recently passed away in their care. Big hugs to Taylor and her family. 🥹❤️

Quick reminder that we have our dance tomorrow at St Lawrence Parish Hall. Prize dances in both halves, with the interval raffle supporting Jersey Hospice Care. Dancing starts at 8.00pm, and Philip Le Claire will be playing for us during the first session and we are delighted to say that he has waived his fee which will also be donated to Jersey Hospice Care. Admission £5 each. Simply Ballroom, Jersey is always proud to support local charities. Donated raffle prizes are aways welcome. The team are looking forward to seeing you all there. Lots has happened since our last dance.
Tina has become an Associate of the IDTA meaning that we now have four Qualified Teachers working with Simply Ballroom, Jersey. Tony has also passed his Licentiate Examinations, meaning that he will be training and entering teachers for Professional Exams, to become Associates with the IDTA.
We look forward to seeing you all for our third dance of the year., on the last Saturday of August - the 29th! Last time we held a dance it was almost roasting! This time it’s likely to be “warm”. In our interval raffle, we will be supporting Jersey Hospice, along with donating lots to the auction at their September Ball at RJHS. Saturday night will have your favourite music and dances with fun prize dances in both sessions! We'd love to see you all there! Keep calm and bring raffle prizes...

We'll be teaching some of these winning inventive dances over the next few weeks, along with a few older favourites. Starting tonight at Sion. Booking essential. 😀

Simply Ballroom, Jersey is back for the rest of the summer, teaching Sequence dances, including two new Winning sequence dances from the IDTA World Dance Convention, held at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, July 2026! Classes will be held at our Sion Studio, Starting at 7pm, Thursday, 23rd July. Limited to 10 couples, or equivalent, as single places will be available. Advanced booking essential. Simply Ballroom, Jersey are delighted to share with you the news that Tina, principal of our dance school, has qualified as an Associate of the IDTA International Dance Teachers Association, acheiving Distinctions in all four of the Ballroom Modules. Well done, Tina. All that hard work and determination has really paid dividends. I think we're going to need a bigger notice board.

To top off a wonderful trip to Blackpool, we just had the news that Tony Eggleston has successfully passed his Licentiate Latin exams with Distinction.

He is now qualified to prepare and present dancers for professional examinations... but first, he is celebrating at the airport with a pint! 🍻
