TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT

Bowls Jersey are delighted to announce their squad for the European Championships 2026 in Llandrindod Wells between 19th-26th September.

British Bowls International Series, day 4 session 2:

The ladies finish up with the Irish on top.

Unfortunately the ladies couldn’t keep their momentum against a determined Irish team who finished in a high against the ladies.

Ireland 6-0 Jersey

Well to sum up, there has been a lot of positives in the series for both the ladies and men. Once again the scoreboard does not reflect a lot of games results. Different days and different actions and there would have been a lot more points. Once again Jersey fought well and showed we can complete with the best in Britain. A massive well done to all the players that have played this week.

Also a massive thank you and well done to team managers Ethel Southern and Matt Herve, who have kept the teams going, kept on top of everything and looked after everyone.

A huge thank you to a big travelling support, the ones who travelled up to watch and the ones who stayed after the championships, it was fantastic to see so many supporters for jersey making lots of noise.

We come back with our heads held high and look forwarded to the next series in 2027!!

British Bowls International Series day 4 session 1:

The ladies get a much needed boost and the men conclude their series.

The ladies were up against Wales in the fours and singles. A great showing from the ladies saw them win 3 rinks and just losing out on the over all shots bonus.

Jersey 3-3 Wales

The men completed their series against England in the pairs and triples. At the halfway stage the lads were in every single game, but the experience and class from the English took the game away from the lads.

England 6-0 Jersey

The final session of the day just about the start with the ladies competing their series in the singles and fours against Ireland while the men cheer the ladies on!!

British Bowls international series day 3 session 2:

The men were up against it against hosts Scotland. A good fight from the lads with 3 games going down to the last game but no joy as Scotland sweep the men the whole session.

Tomorrow marks the final day with the men concluding their series against England and the ladies with 2 games against Wales and Ireland.

British Bowls International Series day 3 session 1:

A difficult morning for both the ladies and men as they start to close out their series.

The ladies had hosts Scotland in the singles and fours. The ladies played well but unfortunately Scotland showed their class and proving they are a step above us at the moment.

Scotland 6-0 Jersey

The men also had a difficult game against Ireland in the pairs and triples. 3 rinks had a tough struggle but there was a chance of winning the other 3 rinks, losing out 1 rink by 2 and one rink by 1 on the last end. The men did win 1 rink adding to their points tally.

Ireland 5-1 Jersey

The second and final session is underway with the men up against hosts Scotland in their penultimate game of the series and the ladies having a bye.

British Bowls International Series day 2 session 3:

Another tough session for both the men’s and ladies but some points taken to close out the day.

The ladies facing hosts Scotland for the first time to close out their triples and pairs had a tough ask against the bright hosts. Once again some good bowls and some tight fakes but experience one the day on the hosts green.

The men’s team closed out their singles and fours journey against England. Jersey took a little while to get out the traps but the lads fought back well, not losing by many in every rink and managing to take a rink.

England 5-1 Jersey

Tomorrow there are 2 sessions with the men taking on Ireland and Scotland and the ladies are playing Scotland

British Bowls International Series, day 2 session 2:

A tough break for both the men’s and the ladies teams who are taken for a clean sweep.

The ladies up against England for the second time in the series, found it tough from the off, with England showing all their talent. Some decent fight from our ladies kept the scores down but it was Englands to take.

The men up against Wales for the second time could not repeat the previous days heroics with Wales exacting revenge. Again some rinks were close but Wales coming out well deserved winners.

The final session is underway with the ladies up against hosts Scotland in their last pairs and triples of the series and the men up against England in their last singles and fours of the series

British Bowls International Series day 2 session 1:

A change in the weather with rain in the air and a cooler morning saw both the men’s and ladies taking points.

The ladies up against Wales, kept a cool solid performance overall and managing to take 2 rink wins, with the other rinks with some quite tight scorelines.

Wales 4-2 Jersey

The men were up against old foe Ireland. A fantastic start and control over most of the game it looked like Jersey were going to go on and take half the game from Ireland but ultimately the talent and skill of Ireland just pipped the men, but us leaving with 1 rink win and a draw.

Session 2 is about to get underway, with the ladies back up against England in the singles and fours and the men against wales in the pairs and triples.

British Bowls International Series, session 3:

A tough afternoon for the ladies who played a strong and spirited Ireland side. Again some rinks came close with good performances but it was not meant to be with Ireland taking a clean sweep.

Ireland 6-0 Jersey

Play has concluded for the day but we go again tomorrow at 9:30 with the men playing Ireland in singles and fours and the ladies playing Wales in pairs and triples.

A big day ahead with both the men and ladies playing all 3 sessions.

British Bowls International Series Session 2:

The ladies kicked off their series against England in the pairs and triples. England were very strong but the ladies fought hard taking 1 rink and losing a few only by a couple of shots.

England 5-1 Jersey

The men kicked on with confidence against Wales and for the first time ever they have won a session overall!! The men took all 3 singles, and taking a rink of fours on the last end. There was a chance of the shots bonus just trailing by 4 shots in the last couple of ends but it wasn’t to be. History made though by the lads who will go into tomorrow with strong hope and confidence to continue fine form.

Jersey 4-2 Wales

Session 3 is underway with the ladies taking on Ireland in the pairs and triples, with the men having a bye in the last session.
