Cruising into one of the longer caves East of Greve de Lecq.
The calm sea conditions allowed us to get really deep into the cave safely. As this is normal one of the first caves to catch the slightest bit of swell. Often meaning you can't get close to the last third.

Great day exploring the caves East of Greve de Lecq.
The cool of the caves was the perfect way to find relief from the heat. The calm conditions allowed us to get deep inside and visit a few normally off limits, except on the best days.

We still have spaces available on our 10:00 and 14:00 sit on top kayak tours from Greve De Lecq tomorrow. We will be exploring the caves to East. Perfect way to find relief from the heat. Or cool down after work on an evening tour.
We have also opened up extra kayaks tours on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. When its this hot, the best place to be is on the sea.

Things have been super busy here at Kayak Nomad recently. Last week we welcomed Kenny and James from Malta to come do the Sea Kayak Award and PSL.
First day of the Sea Kayak award was all about training and exploring the North coast from Bouley Bay and then the 2nd day was assessing their skills from St. Catherines. Both generally done really well and embraced the rescue skills in our colder water.

Sunday Beginner Skills Course got off to a good start at St Brelades Bay last week.
Using the poles of the old pier and some mooring buoys for practicing turns. A couple of swims and a few laughs. Some returned to the beach wetter than others.

Paddle Pick Up -
Thanks to Sean and Baille from Ports of Jersey for helping me complete some targeted beach cleaning via kayak. Our mission for the afternoon was to remove 2 x abandoned lobster pots from a remote beach along Portelet Common. These are heavy and bulky and so not easy to remove on foot on primitive paths. So collecting them via kayak is ideal. We soon found our roles as Sean and I cut and removed the netting and then bagged it up. While Baille use an angel grinder to cut the pot cages in two. All rubbish was then carried back to the kayaks at the water edge, loaded and paddled back to Ouaisne beach.
This was conducted in the spirit of a wider campain to clean our water ways buy Paddle UK called the https://paddleuk.org.uk/big-paddle-cleanup/
