Dear All

Welcome to the combined clubs' Butterfield Jersey Regatta. I am delighted to say thatthe weather forecast is looking good for 4th to 6th September, we are poised and ready for the 'off'.

With registration closing on 1st September, most entries are already in and we can look forward to great racing and a lot of fun both afloat and ashore. Without doubt, the GBR IRC Channel Islands Championship will, once again, put all IRC skippers and crew on their mettle.

This is the 28th edition of this open 'flagship' eventand the first to run under the generous and keen sponsorship of Butterfield Bank; huge thanks to them!

As previously published, we get underway on Thursday 3rd and run through to Sunday 6th September. Busy times ahead for all!

Thursday
St Helier YC - 1900 - welcome, skippers' briefing and distribution of Butterfield apparel

Friday
Racing for all classes (a 'warm up' day with trophies and prizes across all classes
RCIYC - 1900 - post racing complimentary supper (call 741023 to reserve)

Saturday
Racing for all classes
Day 1 of the GBR IRC CI Championship
RCIYC - 1930 - Regatta supper and party - attendance free; supper tickets at £25/head available through www.jerseyregatta.com

Sunday
Racing for all classes
Day 2 of the GBR IRC CI Championship
St Helier YC - 1830 - complimentary supper, bumper prize-giving and close

For those still intending to join us, entry remains open to midnight Tuesday; go to www.jerseyregatta.com and 'Enter Here' tab. Note that reduced fees apply for boats wishing to race on Friday, only.

We are very grateful to Ports of Jersey who, for the 28th year running , are providing complimentary berthing and to the I & E Department for releasing the public car park at the RCIYC for dinghy parking. Many thanks, also, to international sail-maked and sail-wear company North Sails for supporting the IRC Championship, once again.
