🔴 MENS CRICKET | JERSEY v SCOTLAND A 🔴

Jersey levelled the series 1-1, winning by 25 runs in the second 50-over match at Uddingston CC.

Batting first, Jersey posted a total of 317 before being bowled out, having been set up to score nearer 400 for much of the innings.

Zak Tribe was once again the top run-scorer with a rapid 85 (39), while Will Perchard (54) and Brennan (53) ably contributed with half-centuries.

In the second innings, the game looked like it could have gone either way, with great displays of batting and bowling from both teams at various stages, before Ben Ward claimed the final two wickets to secure the win for Jersey.

A couple of strong fixtures heading into a very important back half of the year for Jersey! 🔴

Game 2: Jersey beat Scotland A by 25 runs.

Zak Tribe went back-to-back with 85 (39), following his 99 (79) in Game 1, providing great impetus to an innings that looked like it could have produced a total of 400.

After Zak was dismissed, William Perchard and Charlie Brennan produced a 96-run partnership, scoring freely around the ground, before Brennan departed for a well-made 53 (5x4s, 2x6s). Perchard then followed shortly, after making 54 (7x4s, 1x6s).

A great opportunity for some middle time for our batters across the tour, showing great rhythm ahead of the Inter-Insular! 💪

Game 1:

In the first innings, Nick Greenwood produced a sumptuous spell of spin bowling, taking 7/48 in his 8.4 overs. He arrived late into the attack as the captain’s seventh-choice bowler, and that magical number meant he left with as many Scottish victims as fell to his beautifully flighted off-spin!

The run chase was expertly managed by batsmen Zak Tribe and Jonty Jenner. The former, Tribe, led the way with a beautifully constructed 99 (75) before he was run out. Jonty then took the run chase deep before being left stranded on 94 (77), with Jersey bowled out just one run short of the target.

Look out for more action as Jersey are back in action today at 11:00am!
