🏏 COMETS UNBEATEN RUN CONTINUES
The Chirpy’s Comets continued their unbeaten MCMJ Tier 2 campaign with a strong 36-run victory over St Ouen Springfield on Sunday morning.
Batting first, the Comets posted 158/8, with Leo Sithamparanathan leading the way with a composed 26 from 25 balls. Will Baxter added a valuable unbeaten 23 from 20 balls, helping the Comets set a strong total.
But the headline moment of the match belonged to Beau Tinari-Lee.
A hat-trick is special enough. Three wickets in three balls is something most players will never experience. But Beau went one better, taking four wickets in four consecutive deliveries — a remarkable achievement and a moment that will no doubt live long in the memory.
It was a stunning spell from a special young talent, and one of those passages of play that reminds everyone watching just how exciting junior cricket can be.
Will Baxter also backed up his batting contribution with 2/14, as St Ouen Springfield were bowled out for 122.
Another excellent team performance from the Comets, who keep their unbeaten run going in style — but this one will rightly be remembered for Beau’s outstanding four-in-four.

🏏 CYCLONES WIN A THRILLER AT LQ2
The Chirpy’s Cyclones came through a superbly tight contest on Sunday morning, edging out Walkovers by just 1 run in a real nail-biter at LQ2.
Batting first, the Cyclones posted 156/6 from their 20 overs, led from the front by captain Taylor Nelson, who played a very good innings to finish unbeaten on 32*. He was supported well by Charlie Cosnett, who also retired on 30*, while some late hitting from Joe Murphy added a valuable 26 and gave the innings an important lift.
In reply, Walkovers came hard at the chase and the Cyclones’ bowlers were put under pressure at times. Despite that, the boys stuck at it, kept battling, and just about held their nerve in the closing stages to secure a brilliant 1-run victory.
A fantastic game of junior cricket and another strong result for the Cyclones.

🏏 SELECT XI PRODUCE PROFESSIONAL DISPLAY AT FB1
Chirpy’s Select XI produced a mature and thoroughly professional performance on Friday evening, securing an excellent 8-wicket victory over the Jersey Women’s squad at FB1.
Jersey Women batted first, but a terrific display with the ball, backed up by enthusiastic and committed fielding, saw the Chirpy’s juniors restrict their opponents to 109 all out inside the allocated 20 overs.
Beau Tinari-Lee was the standout with the ball, taking 3 wickets, while Taylor Nelson also made a strong impact with 2 wickets. They were well supported by the rest of the attack, with all of the boys showing discipline, bowling tight lines and limiting scoring opportunities throughout the innings.
In reply, Chirpy’s had to recover from the early loss of both openers. Freddie Cornic departed without scoring, while George Le Boutillier was dismissed for 7, leaving the chase finely balanced.
That brought Harry German and Barney Pearce together at the crease — and the pair handled the situation superbly. Their calm, composed and highly professional unbroken partnership of 87 guided the Select XI home in just 16.2 overs.
Harry finished unbeaten on 58*, with Barney equally impressive in support, ending on 37*.
A very strong all-round display from the Chirpy’s boys, who were led well by captain Charlie Caunt, and a brilliant opportunity for the players to test themselves against some of the Island’s leading women’s cricketers.
A big thank you to the Jersey Women’s squad for the fixture and the opportunity. We look forward to hopefully doing it again in the future.
