Days after claiming a brilliant Commonwealth silver in the 100m breaststroke, Filip has delivered the performance of a lifetime to win GOLD in his signature event – the 200m breaststroke. 🥇🇯🇪

This isn’t just another medal. It’s the culmination of years of relentless dedication, sacrifice and belief, and a moment that will inspire generations of Jersey athletes to dream bigger.

From our small island to the top of the Commonwealth, Filip has shown that talent, hard work and unwavering determination can take you anywhere.

The IIGA is delighted to announce that, following the vote at today’s Annual General Meeting, Gotland will be holding the 2031 International Island Games from 28 June to 4 July 2031.

“It feels so good that we have now reached the finish line with this application process that we have been working on since 2024. Now we have five years to deliver a great games” said Fredrik Persson, chairman of the organizing committee.

The 2027 Betri International Island Games will be held in the Faroe Islands.
