This afternoon I was asked to join one of the juniors, Charlie Stewart, during his interview with the Jersey Evening Post talking about his achievement in qualifying for the .s.kidsgolf European Championship up in Scotland later this month ππ»
Iβve taught Charlie for over a year now, and not only his he turning into a brilliant golfer, but an even better young lad! Hearing him answer some questions this afternoon was amazing, I think he did better and was more confident than most adults!
Good luck to Charlie up in Scotland, what an experience and opportunity provided by US Kids and the academy over here in Jersey!
Junior golf in Jersey is in an amazing place with all the work and with the SRM Academy, giving the youngsters an opportunity to get into golf within a fun, group environment.
From my end, Iβm very fortunate to be able to work with so many talented kids on a 1-1 basis, I love being able to provide a community where newer players and experienced players can learn/help eachother within the programme, which is in itβs third year of running and is kindly sponsored by and
On behalf of the juniors that I coach, thanks go out to the club , for all of Jamesβ support, also to my fellow Pros Seb, JP and Michael for all the advice and support they offer, finally to Derek De La Haye, the clubs junior organiser, for all the time invested in helping the juniors, parents and pros with all things junior golf.
The full report from Charlie and the JEP will be out sometime next week, so keep your eyes peeled!

Huge thankyou to for give the juniors an amazing opportunity and privilege to learn from one of the best coaches in golf!
Alex ran two sessions for the juniors, one for some of the players who travel to play in tournaments, giving them help and ideas around how to prepare for it and how to adapt their short games to suit different scenarios they may face.
The second was open to all juniors to give them a solid understanding of how to hit a few different shots around the greens.
This was followed by Alex being the guest speaker for the clubs annual dinner, offering an insight to what itβs like to work with some of the best players in the world, what Augusta is like for the masters, and how the challenges players face vary from tour to tour and week to week.
Massive thankyou to Alex, and also for offering such an amazing opportunity to all ππΌ
