“Laura scores.” Eddie Stern’s words. And I really see myself in them.
More than a year and a half of thoughts, ideas and work went into a workshop like the one that has just come to an end in Turin!
A very long journey that started in NYC years ago, a strong punk rock identity that also emerged on the mat with Eddie (we are free and independent — and I love that), the idea of inviting him slowly taking shape and then, almost like magic, voilà: three incredible days.
All the communication needed to bring 60 free spirits from all over the world together on the mat, and the feeling of being part of a new community: Yoga Sangraha.
And then, blessed be the little unexpected things we had to deal with along the way, because they were also part of the journey of making Eddie feel at home here in Turin.
Thank you to my Tapas, to my sense of self, asmita, which I discovered through Eddie can be a form of Samadhi rather than a demon to fight, and also to the Yoga Sutras, which teach us about so many different forms of Concentration.
And finally, an ode to Ishvara Pranidhana: we always need to surrender to something greater, because none of this would have been possible on our own.
Eddie transmitted his Kriya Yoga to us, that upaya that can make us free punk rockers: free from our vrittis if we meditate more, and, if we manage not to identify with anything, free to rest in Purusha.
It happens when we learn to stay with the breath, in the body and in concentration, all at the same time.
Thank you all.
The bis in 2028.
