„We spent five days with CyclingHero immediately before our wedding. I’m still quite surprised Lucy (now wife) agreed to this…
CyclingHero made everything incredibly easy. The routes, bikes, hotels and logistics were all sorted, so my only real job was to suffer up the climbs and enjoy coming down the other side…
The days were challenging, but they were achievable, and it was easily the best riding I’ve ever done. The Dolomites are ridiculous. Even now, we’re still staggered by how beautiful they were…
Bob and Caterina gave her plenty of suggestions for hikes and things to do while I was out on the bike. She ended up doing what she says was the best hike of her life, so it really felt like a great trip for both of us rather than just a cycling holiday she’d been dragged along to.
Bob and Caterina are genuinely kind people and very good at what they do. We felt well looked after from start to finish.„

Everyone photographs the Stelvio’s 48 hairpins. Only few photograph the Gavia.
It’s the tenth highest paved road in the Alps. It has two ways up, and we’ve climbed both.
👚The Gavia entered the Giro d’Italia in 1960, when Imerio Massignan crossed the summit first. Its real legend came in 1988. A blizzard hit mid-stage, conditions that would stop a race today. American Andy Hampsten pushed through in a pair of ski gloves he’d thought to pack, descended the other side while rivals turned back, and rode into the Maglia Rosa.
⛰️From Bormio: 24.8 km, 1,435 m of climbing, 5.8% average.
Unlike its neighbour the Stelvio, this side isn’t full of hairpins, just 10, all clustered together past the village of Santa Caterina. After that, it’s an almost straight line to the top, with several kilometres over 10% that arrive exactly when your legs think the hard part is over.
⛰️From Ponte di Legno: 16.4 km, 1,319 m of climbing, 8% average.
This is the historic side, the one most associated with the Giro. The final stretch is what riders call a goat track to the summit at 2,616 m, and there’s a dim, unlit tunnel partway up. Pack a light.
💕Just below the summit, on both sides, sit two small lakes: Lago Nero and Lago Bianco. Black lake, white lake. Local legend says they represent two lovers forced apart, impossible love, frozen into the landscape.
Two ascents, one summit. Bormio is the longer fight, steadier, more sustained. Ponte di Legno is the shorter punch, sharper, harder, over faster.
Some of our guests ride one side.
Some ride up one and down the other, in the same day.⚡️🚵🏻♀️🚵🏼♂️⚡️

Maratona dles Dolomites completed, you can keep pedaling and conquer some of the most epic climbs in your bucket list!
While most of our guests flied home after race week, five of them did not this year.
Three more days of riding after the finish line, from Corvara through Merano and up to Bormio, over the Stelvio’s 48 hairpins. Two of them you can find somewhere around hairpin 30 in the photos, still smiling!
This is one of our most popular itinerary this year: Dolomites to Stelvio. Yes, it requires some courage to add this as an extension to the Maratona dles Dolomites, but it is worth every pedal stroke. 🚵🏻♀️🚵🏼♂️🚵🏻✨
2027 Maratona spots, extension included, go live soon.
Maratona dles Dolomites 2026: you’ll be remembered as one of the most joyful cycling event we ever had.

Ten days. More than 1,300 km. 22,000 meters of climbing. From Trieste-Italy, on the Adriatic, to Menton-France, where the Alps fall into the Mediterranean.
Eight friends cycling the full spine of the Alps. From Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, across the Dolomites, then the Stelvio Pass and its endless switchbacks. Lombardy and the lakes towards the epic grand finale in Piedmont. The Colle delle Finestre, where the road turns gravel near the sky. The Colle Fauniera, where Pantani is watching you, silent, severe, unforgettable.
Every day a different valley, a different summit, a different obstacle to overcome. At your own pace.
The CyclingHero support in the background, on the road.
“Incredible 10 days across the most beautiful parts of the Alps. A very challenging odyssey made possible. Thanks again.”

Giro d’Italia 2026 is over. We came, we saw, we were wowed. Again.
Every time the Giro runs through the Dolomites, it is such a feeling. As much as we are used to these sceneries, they are our backyard, when the pink jersey crosses those passes so familiar to us, they take on another light. Because we have left our sweat on the same climbs, we know the pain of every single metre.
Those roads and mountains become the witness of a conquest rather than the trophy of a selfie.

When a guest comes back for the third year in a row, the question is: how do you surprise them?
7 days riding in the beautiful scenery of Northern Italy may have not been enough, even if the sun shines every single day, that’s Italian cycling for you.
What about being on the road with your favorite Canadian pro-cyclist and get to have a chat with him? A short, slightly formal one 🇨🇦 but with your heart beating almost like when you’re cycling up a climb…
what a great cycling chapter of history you’re presenting us, eh! Grazie💕

Every trip starts with a conversation, listening to you as a cyclist, what you’re looking for, what you’re ready to leave behind for a week, how much of a challenge you want to take on.
Then we start planning. Every detail, every road, every point of interest you don’t want to miss.
Once on the road with your bicycle you can ride, “senza pensieri e senza fretta”, at your pace.
The land does the rest, the beauty of those roads that we are glad to share with you.
We are grateful to all of our guests who trust us with something that matters to them.
