New Race Launch ... Ogopogo, Western Canada

Global are delighted to help Richie launch this new race, and to see the story of extreme triathlon continue in North America.

REGISTRATION IS OPEN.

For 30 years, Penticton, British Columbia, was home to one of the most iconic Ironman races on the planet, in a place rich in indigenous culture & history, and incredible landscapes.
Athletes came from around the world to swim, ride and run through the Okanagan. — chasing something bigger than a finish line.
Now, a new chapter begins. Something so much more.

The Ogopogo Extreme Triathlon is here.
3.8km dark swim
183km bike | 3,100m elevation
43km run | 2 mountain summits

A course built to test every part of you. And a challenge worthy of the place where it happens.
For those looking for a different way to take it on, the Ogopogo 3500 (half-distance) and Ogopogo Relay are also available.
Penticton has a history of producing legendary endurance races.

Extreme Triathlon A-Z ... ICON XTRI in Northern Italy

ICON Livigno Xtreme Triathlon, i.e. ICON Livigno Xtreme Triathlon started in 2016. A 5am 3.8km swim at 1800m altitude. Then bike 195km in and out of Switzerland with 5000m of ascents, including the world famous Stelvio with 48 hairpin bends and 1817m of ascent over 24km, an average of 8% gradient. Then the marathon with most of the 1100m ascents in the last 10km, finishing at 3000m elevation. Then you're an ICON!

Race Week! ... Triathlon Attack in Slovakia

Firstly, a big well done everyone at Norseman and Efjord.

This Saturday it's our joint 2nd toughest half distance by ascents in the world ...

Triathlon Attack by Active Planet on Saturday - An Extreme Half with a punch, started in 2015. Fastest finish is 8hrs 12 minutes, that's how tough it is. Set in beautiful middle of Slovakia. A 2.1km swim then a whopping 126km point to point bike ride with 2800m of ascents. Then the 23km run with 1400m of ascents around the mighty Tatras loop, topping out at 2000m altitude. And see those views! Refreshment stations provided, so no need for Support. Run by the one and only Katerina Belicova.

Firstly, a big well done everyone at a very tough Ascend XTRI at the weekend. Photo's and stories?

Yes, this Saturday it's our founding race and we're also welcomibg it's newest, both in stunning Norway ...

Zalaris Norseman in South West Norway - No-one needs this one explained. Also includes the XTRI World Tour Championships and now a battle of champions. Superb.

Efjord Extreme in the Norwegian Arctic Circle - A stunning new Half, Olympic and Teams race near Narvik, and we believe it and Lofoten are the most northerly triathlons on the planet. First official race and sold out. There may be a kilt.

Firstly, well done to all at Altriman, Estonian Forest and Oravaman. This Saturday is global ...

eagleXman | Extreme Triathlon in Central Italy - Swim Lake Campotosto at 1200m altitude, then bike and run over the stunning Gran Sasso Massif landscapes. Film locations everywhere. Fabrizio has a record number of athletes racing in a festival of full, half & olympic distances.

Wilderman in North Dakota USA - "Life jackets provided for bike & run", that catches the attention. Full distance with gravel/mountain biking and the "gnarliest trail and creek running". Half & relays also. Joel & Matt from Extreme North Dakota Racing are keeping the type 2 fun alive as our sports only current race in North America, but more due 2027!
