We don’t care if you’ve been teaching for years, just started, or if this would be your very first time.

What we want to know is why you dance, which values you want to share and what being part of a community means to you ❤️‍🩹

We’re offering 4 paid teaching hours at your usual fee, plus travel, food and accommodation. That’s the bare minimum 👊🏻

No performance/impro/demo required.

No “visibility” as a currency:
if you teach in Salerno, your situation isn’t exactly gonna improve.

for months, we seriously thought about not organizing GITS again.

the disagio was strong:
at the previous edition, we were forced to interrupt the opening party to observe, once again, the good old classism of the venue owners.

a venue paid an insane amount of money and forced to book last minute. because the one we had originally chosen, despite a contract signed a whole year in advance, decided a few days before the event that they would “prefer a different kind of association” in their prestigious venues.

However, we haven’t forgotten how the community reacted to all of this:

«if you don’t want us here, we don’t care.
we’ll go somewhere else, but we don't stop".

and this is exactly what keeps us going.

that sense of community that goes beyond everything and the need to take an even stronger stand.

in the previous four editions, we’ve built something real all together and we can’t ignore that.

the local community gave everything and was always able to count on the support of all the friends who came to salerno.

friends who knew, but maybe didn’t fully realize, how much disagio our city had to offer.

they never complained about it.
quite the opposite: they turned it into a strength.

disagio is pretty damn nice, but it can be terrible too.

terrible because it works like this:
to organize something, passion, skills and the quality of the project are simply not enough.

terrible because public doors are only open to some people.

terrible because you need a “contact”.

terrible because institutional support is reserved only for those with the right "pedigree”.

terrible because the value of a project is measured by the surname of the person proposing it and not by the values it stands for.

and this system wins if we all stop.

but it also wins if we keep telling ourselves that it's normal for it to work that way.

no, it’s not normal.

gits wants to be a breakup event.

gits is non-profit and grassroots.

gits doesn’t want to sell a product, but to create shared moments between the people who live in the city and those who come to discover it.

gits is the chance to do something we love, right here at home.

now GITS will also be about choosing not to compromise anymore, with anyone.

over the years, we’ve had to rent and thank salerno’s prestigious venues, because they were the only large spaces available, paying insane prices and suffering horribly disorganized services.

but mò vabbuon accussì.

because we don’t want to thank anyone anymore for simply renting us a space.

we want the spaces to be happy to be traversed by a community that, in the meantime, has proved its ability to film them with life.

we won't rent big and prestigious venues anymore.

we’ll only go where we’re welcome, where inclusivity and authenticity are part of the deal.

we’ll accept hosting a smaller number of friends, but we won’t stop.

we’ll go to the holes they think are right for us and from there we’ll make a mess of crazy people because these places are REAL.

because we don’t care about making gits bigger in numbers or turning it into a product that can be endlessly replicated.

gits is our way of seeing and experiencing things together with the people close to us.

it’s the way we choose to live in this city and build something together.

if, to you, an event is just a ticket to sell, an experience to consume and the values we share are not your priority, please don’t look at what we do.

we care about building community.

the kind that creates value, builds relationships and leaves something behind when one more song is played.

this is why GITS keeps going and becomes no-gits.

to stand by thise who, even in other cities, support and organize despite everything.

choosing values even when it doesn’t pay off.

keeping a "type" of salerno out of GITS.

to everyone who supported us over the years, we say: OEO.
