The International Federation Sport for All (FISpT) was founded on April 3, 1982, in Strasbourg, at the Council of Europe.

In June 1995, during the 104th IOC Session held in Budapest (June 15–18), FISpT was granted full recognition by the IOC.

The Fédération Internationale d’Éducation Physique et Sportive (FIEPS) and the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of physical education and Sport for All at international, regional, and local levels. The agreement, signed on 3 July 2026, establishes a non‑commercial, non‑fee framework for joint action, mutual membership, and long‑term collaboration between the two organizations.

FIEPS – Fédération Internationale d’Éducation Physique et Sportive – is one of the world’s oldest international organizations dedicated to physical education and sport, with a long tradition of promoting quality physical education systems and active lifestyles across continents. Today, FIEPS operates as an international body for physical education with representation and activities in a large number of countries, organizing world and continental congresses, scientific events, and expert networks focused on PE, sport pedagogy, and health.

Over its history, FIEPS has contributed to the development and recognition of physical education as a key pillar of education and public health, collaborating closely with universities, schools, professional associations, and international sport and science bodies. Through initiatives such as FIEPS World and European Congresses and the FIEPS “New Leaders” programmes, the federation has supported research, innovation, and the training of new generations of professionals in physical and sport education.

The International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) is an international federation dedicated to the promotion and development of Sport for All, inclusive participation, and the social and educational value of sport. FISpT works with member organizations and partners worldwide to foster access to diverse physical activities for all ages and abilities, emphasizing inclusion, health, and community engagement.

Under the new MoU, FIEPS becomes a partner of FISpT and a committee member dedicated to physical education, while FISpT becomes a member of FIEPS, reinforcing mutual recognition and strategic alignment between the two organizations.

The MoU defines several core areas of collaboration, including: promotion of Sport for All and physical education; development of educational programmes and initiatives for physical education teachers, associations, and stakeholders; exchange of knowledge, expertise, publications, and best practices; joint seminars, conferences, workshops, webinars, and training activities; and advocacy for the value of physical education, active lifestyles, and inclusive participation. The Parties also commit to cooperate on projects, campaigns, statements, and institutional initiatives of mutual interest, and to coordinate public communication regarding joint activities in a spirit of mutual respect.

The International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) today announced its official admission as a Partner of the International Partnership Against Corruption in Sport (IPACS). This milestone confirms FISpT’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency and good governance across all its activities and member organisations.

IPACS is a multi-stakeholder platform co-founded in 2017 by the Council of Europe, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Its mission is to bring together international sports organisations, governments, inter‑governmental organisations and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen and support efforts to eliminate corruption and promote a culture of good governance in and around sport.

Through its Steering Committee, task forces and working groups, IPACS focuses on key areas such as:
- reducing corruption risks in procurement for sporting events and infrastructure,
- ensuring integrity in the selection of hosts for major sporting events,
- strengthening good governance principles to mitigate corruption risks,
- enhancing cooperation between law enforcement, criminal justice authorities and sports organisations, and
- addressing the emerging challenges of artificial intelligence and corruption in sport.

As an IPACS Partner, FISpT will actively contribute to the Partnership’s work and will immediately begin implementing IPACS tools, standards and best practices to reinforce competition integrity, governance compliance and ethical decision‑making across its sport-for-all disciplines, including dodgeball, fistball, underwater sports and esports.

The Sports Committee of Ukraine is an umbrella organization that brings together and supports the development of non-Olympic sports in Ukraine. It works to strengthen the structure, visibility, and growth of these sports disciplines, with a broad network of member organizations active in the national sports landscape.

This membership reflects the value of cooperation with organizations that promote accessible sport, community engagement, and healthy lifestyles. The International Sport for All Federation recognizes the important role played by the Sports Committee of Ukraine in expanding sporting opportunities beyond elite pathways and in supporting a more inclusive sports ecosystem.

The Sports Committee of Ukraine is described as a public sports organization dedicated to the development of non-Olympic sports in the country. It functions as an umbrella body for multiple sport organizations and contributes to the promotion of sport participation, coordination, and development at national level.

The International Sport for All Federation looks forward to working constructively with the Sports Committee of Ukraine in support of a more inclusive and active society, where sport is accessible to all.

This new cooperation strengthens FISpT’s worldwide network of international federations committed to promoting inclusive and accessible sport participation at all levels.

As an IOC‑recognized organization, FISpT works with international and national partners to expand Sport for All opportunities in traditional and emerging sports. The admission of IESF confirms FISpT’s commitment to support rapidly growing, youth‑driven activities that combine digital innovation with structured competition and strong community engagement.

The International Esports Federation (IESF), founded in 2008, is the global governing body for esports and unites more than 150 national member federations from all regions of the world. Headquartered in Busan, Republic of Korea, IESF works to have esports recognized as a legitimate sport and to provide a common framework for the governance, development, and regulation of competitive gaming worldwide.

IESF is a recognised actor in the international sports movement and collaborates with a range of partners in and beyond sport to promote integrity, good governance and sustainable growth of esports. The federation organises the annual World Esports Championships and other global events, establishes international standards and rules, and supports its members in building national structures for athletes, clubs and competitions.

Esports consist of organised video game competitions where individuals and teams represent their clubs or countries in a variety of game titles and genres, from team‑based arena games to sports simulations and strategy games. Events are played both online and in‑person in arenas and festival settings, with clear rules, officiating, and competition formats similar to traditional sport tournaments.

The ecosystem around esports includes amateur and professional players, coaches, referees, event organisers, broadcasters and content creators, with a particularly strong appeal among young people and digital‑savvy audiences. Through its programmes in education, integrity, gender equality and youth engagement, IESF supports healthy participation in esports and promotes values such as fair play, respect and responsible gaming that align closely with the Sport for All philosophy.

As a Committee Member of FISpT, IESF will contribute its experience in building structured pathways from grassroots to elite competition in a fast‑growing digital sport, creating new opportunities to integrate esports into schools, universities, community programmes and multi‑sport events. FISpT and IESF will explore joint activities in education, inclusion and youth‑oriented projects that promote physical activity, wellbeing and social connection alongside responsible engagement with esports.

The International Sport for All Federation is pleased to announce the provisional recognition of the Fédération Guinéenne de Randonnée Pédestre, Bien-être et Sport pour Tous as a new national member. This recognition is granted on an interim basis, pending the full ratification of the decision by the General Assembly.

This welcome reflects our shared commitment to accessible, inclusive, and community-based sport, with a particular focus on walking, wellbeing, and participation for all ages and abilities. The Federation’s activity in Guinea contributes to the promotion of healthy lifestyles, social cohesion, and regular physical activity through low-threshold and sustainable sport practice.

Walking and wellbeing initiatives are among the most accessible forms of sport and recreation, offering benefits for physical health, mental wellbeing, and community engagement. The Federation’s mission aligns strongly with the Sport for All movement and its objective of encouraging active lifestyles in everyday life.

This status is provisional and will remain in force until the General Assembly completes the formal ratification process. The International Sport for All Federation welcomes this step as part of a constructive and transparent membership pathway.

FISpT welcomes the Romanian Sport for All Federation as new national member

The International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) has announced the acceptance of the Romanian Sport for All Federation (FRSPT) as a new National Member, pending formal ratification at the next FISpT Annual General Assembly. The admission of FRSPT marks another important step in strengthening the international Sport for All movement and expanding cooperation across Europe through shared values of health, inclusion, lifelong participation in physical activity and community development.

FRSPT joins FISpT with the official endorsement of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, the recognized National Olympic Committee of Romania, reflecting the Federation's commitment to promoting Olympic values through Sport for All and its contribution to accessible, inclusive physical activity nationwide.

FRSPT is Romania's national organization for Sport for All and active lifestyles. Through a nationwide network of 25 County Sport for All Associations, the Federation coordinates and supports programmes encouraging participation in physical activity for people of all ages and abilities, in close collaboration with local authorities, educational institutions, sports clubs and community organizations across the country.

In 2026, FRSPT coordinates a National Calendar of 239 Sport for All activities, including community sport festivals, recreational competitions, dance and movement programmes, family activities, initiatives for children and young people, programmes for older adults and persons with disabilities, health-enhancing physical activity campaigns, and numerous events held as part of the European Week of Sport ( ).

The Federation is actively engaged in European cooperation through Erasmus+ Sport projects, including Break for Health (B4H) and Bike & Music, advancing healthy lifestyles, active mobility, social inclusion, youth participation and the exchange of good practices among European partners.

Beyond its national activity, FRSPT takes part in international Sport for All initiatives, conferences and educational programmes, strengthening cooperation with organizations dedicated to physical activity, health and social inclusion.

The International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) is pleased to announce that the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF), the global governing body for the sport of armwrestling, has been accepted as a new Committee Member of FISpT. This new cooperation strengthens FISpT’s worldwide network of international federations committed to promoting inclusive and accessible sport participation at all levels.

As an IOC‑recognized organization, FISpT works with international and national partners to expand Sport for All opportunities in traditional and emerging sports. The admission of WAF confirms FISpT’s commitment to support strength and combat‑type sports that combine strong community roots with a modern, innovative approach to participation and event presentation.

The World Armwrestling Federation (WAF), established in 1977, is the international federation for national and regional armwrestling organisations and serves as the global governing body of the sport. Based in Sofia, Bulgaria, WAF oversees the development of armwrestling on all continents, currently uniting more than 90 member countries and coordinating international competitions and development programmes.

WAF is a recognised member of the international combat sports community, collaborating with organisations such as the World Combat Games and other multisport platforms, and fully adheres to the World Anti‑Doping Code and related international standards. The federation sanctions the annual World Armwrestling Championships and other official events, manages the global competition calendar, and sets the technical and sporting regulations for the discipline.

Armwrestling is a strength sport in which two athletes grip each other’s hand at a special table and attempt to force the opponent’s hand down to the touch‑pad. Bouts are organised in weight categories, age groups and left‑ and right‑arm divisions, with strict rules on starts, fouls and safety to ensure fair and secure competition for all participants.

The sport is practiced by men and women, youth and masters athletes, both at elite level and in recreational settings, and is widely used in clubs, fitness centres and community events as an accessible form of strength and power challenge. Through the development of para‑armwrestling and the promotion of grassroots and school activities, WAF actively supports inclusion, gender equality and lifelong participation in line with the Sport for All values.

As a Committee Member of FISpT, WAF will contribute its experience in delivering a global strength sport with simple equipment needs and strong spectator appeal, creating new opportunities to integrate armwrestling into festivals, urban events, school sport and multi‑sport programmes. FISpT and WAF will explore joint activities in coach education, youth initiatives, para‑sport and grassroots projects that promote physical activity, fair play and international friendship through armwrestling.
