The Fédération Internationale d’Éducation Physique et Sportive (FIEPS) and the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of physical education and Sport for All at international, regional, and local levels. The agreement, signed on 3 July 2026, establishes a non‑commercial, non‑fee framework for joint action, mutual membership, and long‑term collaboration between the two organizations.
FIEPS – Fédération Internationale d’Éducation Physique et Sportive – is one of the world’s oldest international organizations dedicated to physical education and sport, with a long tradition of promoting quality physical education systems and active lifestyles across continents. Today, FIEPS operates as an international body for physical education with representation and activities in a large number of countries, organizing world and continental congresses, scientific events, and expert networks focused on PE, sport pedagogy, and health.
Over its history, FIEPS has contributed to the development and recognition of physical education as a key pillar of education and public health, collaborating closely with universities, schools, professional associations, and international sport and science bodies. Through initiatives such as FIEPS World and European Congresses and the FIEPS “New Leaders” programmes, the federation has supported research, innovation, and the training of new generations of professionals in physical and sport education.
The International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) is an international federation dedicated to the promotion and development of Sport for All, inclusive participation, and the social and educational value of sport. FISpT works with member organizations and partners worldwide to foster access to diverse physical activities for all ages and abilities, emphasizing inclusion, health, and community engagement.
Under the new MoU, FIEPS becomes a partner of FISpT and a committee member dedicated to physical education, while FISpT becomes a member of FIEPS, reinforcing mutual recognition and strategic alignment between the two organizations.
The MoU defines several core areas of collaboration, including: promotion of Sport for All and physical education; development of educational programmes and initiatives for physical education teachers, associations, and stakeholders; exchange of knowledge, expertise, publications, and best practices; joint seminars, conferences, workshops, webinars, and training activities; and advocacy for the value of physical education, active lifestyles, and inclusive participation. The Parties also commit to cooperate on projects, campaigns, statements, and institutional initiatives of mutual interest, and to coordinate public communication regarding joint activities in a spirit of mutual respect.
