Completed a marathon years or even decades ago? It may now count towards your EMC journey and bring you closer to the official European Marathon Classics Finisher medal.

A historic moment for European marathon running!

TCS London Marathon will become the first marathon in the world to be staged as a two-day event in 2027 (24-25 April), expanding to 100,000 participants across a single weekend. The change responds to record demand, with 1.33 million entries for the 2026 ballot.

Elite races will be split across two days, improving visibility across categories, while the event will anchor a full week of running in London - including the Running Show and Friday Night Lights 5K.

The scale of social impact continues to grow, with fundraising projected to exceed £150 million in 2027, building on £90 million raised in 2026.
For European Marathon Classics, this marks a clear signal of where marathon running is heading: greater scale, stronger access, and more shared experience across Europe.

Big news from Copenhagen! 🇩🇰

The Copenhagen Marathon has officially introduced a lottery-based entry system for its 2027 edition, marking a major change in how participants are selected. The goal of this decision is to give runners from around the world a fair and equal chance to secure a spot.

After years of record-breaking demand, including the 2026 race selling out in just 23 hours, the move replaces the traditional first-come, first-served model with a three-week registration window.

🗓️Lottery registration is now open: May 13 - June 3
🎟️Free to enter, one entry per person
👥Option to apply as a group (up to 3 runners)
📩Selected runners will have 48 hours to confirm their spot

Record-breaking 1.33 MILLION applications for the 2027 edition of the TCS London Marathon underline just how extraordinary global interest in this race has become 🔥

Looking at these moments captured on race day, it’s easy to understand why. From Greenwich to The Mall, London once again delivered one of the greatest experiences of the marathon calendar, as part of the European Marathon Classics series.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed for everyone who applied, with results to be announced at the beginning of July.

One week after 47,000 runners took over the streets of Madrid, the energy of the Zurich Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Madrid is still impossible to ignore 🇪🇸

From the first kilometers to the final finishers, the Spanish capital once again delivered a race full of passion, atmosphere and unforgettable moments.
With record participation and over 8,000 runners left on the waiting list this year, registration for 2027 is now officially OPEN... and demand is expected to be high!

Entries (17,000 marathon/30,000 half marathon) are being released in phases:
• May 6-10: loyalty window for 2026 finishers
• May 11-13: priority access for runners from the 2026 waiting list
• From May 14: general registration
