Since 1949, Mares has been a world leader in the production and distribution of dive equipment. A strong athlete and WWI Austrian Royal Navy diver, Ludovico Mares founded Mares through his desire to share his extreme passion for the sea with the rest of the world. This passion still drives the spirit of Mares today on a relentless quest for innovation, reliability, the best technology and state-of-the-art performance. Based in Rapallo, Italy, Mares employees gain daily inspiration from the majestic Mediterranean Sea. The strategic location in this picturesque town on the Italian Riviera allows the Mares product development team quick access to great diving, where they fine-tune every new product to meet the needs of each and every diver. Over the past years, Mares has created five distinct divisions to offer all possible types of equipment to meet the needs of every person with a passion for the sea:
