Built to disappear into the distance.
Charlotee & Nico // are putting the Gravel AL to the ultimate test — desolate desert trails, long days in the saddle, self-supported, deep into the unknown.

15 weeks. 4,924 miles. Riding self-supported from France to Japan — and they’re only just over a third of the way there.
We checked in with to get the good, the bad, and the ugly from the last few weeks.
The Good: “Chance encounters with fellow bikepackers who rode alongside us and schooled us in the art of petrol station ice cream. Georgian grandmothers insisting on stuffing us with farm food.”
The Bad: “The mountains didn’t make it easy. Snow logistics meant constantly chasing weather windows to reach remote spots, with the conditions shifting without warning. And off the bike, the admin grind: visas, sold-out trains, flight coordination, wrangling bike boxes, hunting down mechanical bike support.”
The Ugly: “Three classics: a mattress with a phantom puncture that had us waking up on the floor every hour to re-inflate it — a slow, sleepless torture. A gravel slide-out that left its mark. And the abandoned football pitch camp that seemed perfect until the nearby train line decided to run all night.”
