LA VENERE LONGBOARD CLASSIC 2025 - Press release, report and results.
A slice of California on the Roman coast. The second edition of La Venere Longboard Classic concluded on Thursday, September 11, with staggering numbers: 74 contest registrants and over 50 participants from across Italy and even from the Hawaiian island of Kauai, including professional Italian-Californian longboarder Tony Brigante, who crossed two oceans just to participate in the contest.
The event was attended by former Italian champions including Fabrizio Gabrielli, Denny Baldini, Marco Boscaglia, and Paolo Petrilli, marking a historic appearance of one of the first national champions in Italian longboard history.
The competition took place in 1-meter waves with unexpected wind conditions during the morning, which tested all participants. Fabrizio "Bix" Gabrielli took home the title and championship, also winning BEST WAVE of the contest. Following him were Tony Brigante, who was also crowned STYLE MASTER, Marco Parri, and Marco Boscaglia, who won BEST NOSERIDE with a solid Hang 10.
In the women's division, young Camilla Cocco dominated with mature and elegant longboarding, followed by talented Sardinian Carla Mosseddu, with Nicole Narbone and Gianna Servello completing the podium.
The finalists shared a prize pool of €2000 offered by La Venere in Bikini, along with numerous prizes from technical sponsors.
Support from California came from: Thunderbolt Surf & CRIME Surfboards (offering a longboard worth over €1500), Flying Diamonds of California with their fantastic fins, TEN Over with their t-shirts and accessories, SNAKEeyes surf club, and Finjak with their best tool for quick fin changes.
