Before you join L’Eroica, there are a few things you need to know.

📖 Read the regulations carefully: they are the starting point for every Eroica ride.

🚲 Make sure your bike complies with the regulations. The right bike is an essential part of the Eroica experience.

👕 And don’t forget the outfit. At L’Eroica, what you wear matters too: wool jerseys, classic bibs and retro cycling shoes are part of the spirit of the ride.

How to prepare your bike for L’Eroica 2026 🧐

To participate in L’Eroica, your bike must meet a few key criteria to capture the essence of the vintage cycling experience. Here’s what you need to know:

⚙️ Gear Shifters: The gear levers must be mounted on the down tube or the ends of the handlebars.

🔧 Brake Cables: The brake cables must be external, as per the classic design.

🛠 Pedals: Pedals should have toe clips and straps—no clipless pedals allowed!

👓 Classic Aesthetic: Embrace vintage! Saddles, handlebars, and other components should reflect the spirit of pre-1987 bicycles.

⚠️ Important: If your bike does not meet these standards, unfortunately, you will not be able to take part in the event.
