When I met Chuck Barfoot in his surf lab in Ventura (north of Los Angeles), and he gave me an old t-shirt with an iconic photo for Barfoot, I asked him what snowboard he used to take that magnificent photo. He showed me an old black board and after a while that snowboard came with me to go and permanently stay in the Italian Snowboard Museum (Museo Italiano dello Snowboard)

A few days ago Giorgio Contatti, one of the Italian pioneers of snowboarding, came to visit us and brought us (as a gift) this snowboard made of marine plywood, with metal reinforcement in the center and resin covering (surf style). This snowboard, without edges and with a metal fin in the center of the base, was handmade by the brothers Giorgio and Marco Contatti and the Perrone brothers, in Genoa (Italy) in the early eighties.

Our Burton Snowboards exhibit, which Jake also liked a lot, is probably the most viewed and photographed in our museum.
