As part of 's pilot action, first-year secondary students at Institut Escola El Viver in joined forces with local artist Isa "La Muchacha" to create a mural that celebrates identity, inclusion, and .

More than an artwork, the mural was the outcome of an interdisciplinary learning journey combining history, language, and the . Inspired by , students reflected on whose stories are remembered, whose voices are heard, and how artistic expression can challenge dominant narratives 💜

🌍📚 From the classroom to the community!

One of the arts-based and experiences developed within the pilot action was showcased at the PMOE PROA+ Best Practices in Castellar del Vallès ( )📍

👩🏻‍🏫👨🏾‍🏫 Presented on the teachers' own initiative, the experience from Institut Escola El Viver highlighted how families, children and educators worked together around the picture book Què dius?, translating the story into their home languages and creating a symbolic plurilingual garden through art🎨

The project attracted considerable interest during the conference. We're proud to see inspiring educators and contributing to more inclusive, community-centred educational practices👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

🖐🏽💗 We're delighted that Our Caring World through Art pilot action was featured at the Children and Childhoods Conference 2026 at the University of Suffolk Childhood and Education 👥

🗣 On 16 July, Dr Kremena Dimitrova Illustration (Oxford Brookes University) presented Our Caring World through Art: Building Bridges, Crossing Borders... Co-creatively, showcasing the ongoing collaboration between Oxford Brookes University and The Open University.

ℹ️ The presentation highlighted how participatory arts-based workshops with children and young people in schools, libraries and youth settings can foster inclusion, identity and wellbeing. It also reinforced the importance of equitable access to the arts as a powerful driver of children's emotional and social development🙌🏿
