Rock Hugging on a Sunny Island! Climbing Sardinia is a non-agonistic sport association entirely dedicated to mountain-related outdoor activities.

We persevere in trying to drag the greater possible number of people out to the Sardinian wilderness and enjoy its mountains. We love mountains and valleys, and enormously respect their plants, animals and rocks. All we at Climbing Sardinia have developed a passion for all those sports that give us an opportunity to meet what lays out there, up there, hidden from the confortable setting of the city, and so we can spend whole days climbing some breath-taking crags, such as Monte Oddeu, Bruncu Nieddu, or the off-limits Punta Giradili. We also walk for miles on mountain river beds, following their path down to the valley. Some days we have adventures walking on very remote mountain trails, where silence reigns and your eyes can gaze for miles and miles.

🥾 The true challenge is actually the walking. Navigating the fractured, razor-sharp limestone rocks of the Supramonte requires total concentration, a very specific “floating” technique, and the right pair of stiff-soles, high-cut boots.

Giving the Peregrine Falcons some space! 🦅

From March 1st to June 30th, the basalt walls of Monte Arci are officially closed to climbing. 🚫🧗‍♂️

Why? We’re sharing the crag with some very special guests. The Peregrine Falcon migrates all the way from Madagascar to find a home here in Sardinia to raise their chicks. To ensure these magnificent birds can nest in peace, we ask all climbers to respect the seasonal closure and stay away from this sector.

Besides, it’s getting way too hot for basalt anyway! 🔥
