We are pleased to announce that the sixth cricket club in Iceland will soon be formed. Mosfellsbaer Cricket Club will be known as the Ravens. They will play in all our domestic tournaments in 2027.

Vesturbær Volcano Cricket Club triumphed yesterday by a narrow two wickets margin over Kópavogur Puffins in the second semi-final of this year's Valhalla Cup at Hamranesvöllur. Seemingly out of contention at 98-6, chasing 211, Zeeshan Aziz Khan struck a thrilling knock of 80* off 53 balls to turn the match on its head. Vesturbær go through to this year's final to play Reykjavík Vikings.

Defeat in our final fixture against the Marylebone Cricket Club, but what a wonderful, competitive and comradely series of three matches. We learned a lot and greatly enjoyed their company at Tungubakkavöllur. And all the matches were very close and exciting, as we lost by 19 runs, 39 runs, and 2 wickets' margins.

We slip to a 39 run defeat to the MCC and are now 2-0 down in the three match series. The MCC will be lifting aloft the iconic Volcanic Ashes trophy tomorrow. We live and we learn. Well, we live.

Iceland are 51/3 at tea, looking to complete the chase of 126 in the final session of today's match. Evenly poised but we are hopeful!
