Trained under renowned kathak gurus Pandit Suman Mangeshkar and Narayani Devi, both disciples of Pandit Sunderlal Ganganiji, she provides able and stringent yet thoughtful and considerate mentoring to her students in the same disciplinarian tradition of her guru. Nupur Academy is affiliated to Brihad Gujarat Sangeet Sameeti, Ahmedabad ( Government of Gujarat’s Official Faculty for performing Art) and offers the following courses:
Full time kathak Degree course of seven years
Part time kathak certificate course of four, two and one years
Short duration kathak foundation course of six months
Vacation programme of five weeks introductory course to kathak
In order to maintain preset quality standards and to ensure maximum possible personal attention, Nupur admits only 15 students per batch in all courses. Prior to admission, the institute conducts an extensive personal aptitude test of applicants to test their affinity and capability levels. Note for overseas students: Full-term residential courses can be arranged by prior consultation, in which comfortable living quarters in the vicinity of Nupur premises and Indian breakfast and meals (optional) will be provided.
