Hello everyone
Some things are just humanly impossible.
- To grow wings and start flying
- To walk on water
- To stay away from our phones for 5 whole mins...
But in 1954, this ONE thing was equivalent to flying cars.
Running a mile in under 4 minutes.
Experts had deemed it "beyond human".
It was such a known phenomenon that-
Even the fastest athletes aimed for minutes longer than 4.
It was believed the human body wasn't physically capable of such a speed.
On a sunny morning of 6 May 1954, British athlete Roger Bannister proved everyone wrong.
He broke the record in 3 minutes 59 seconds 4 milliseconds.
Actually, he created the record.
In fact he proved everyone wrong. Everyone's “limited thinking” is a false
belief.
But that's not where the story ends...
As soon as the word spread about the “4-minute mile” athlete...
…every runner started to practice with a new target.
They all now saw a new possibility.
Since then more than 1,755 athletes have broken the same record.
However, It is strongly believed it's only possible because of Roger who did it
first.
Think about it.
How many times have we surprised ourselves in the same way?
We create a mental cage and get surprised when we realize:
The lock was always broken.
All it needed was one simple push- The doors open And the world becomes
our oyster.
