The things, that are experienced here cannot be learned from books, by seeing photos or by watching videos. The oils used for the treatment at our Kalari Ashram are organic and hand-made on site under the direct supervision of the master. The medicines we use in the treatments are made according to the recipes which are thousands of years old. These are contained in ancient palm leaf documents, passed down to Dr. C.S. Suchith from his ancestors and teachers. We see that it is our duty to preserve the traditions of the past for the benefit of future generations. Buddha Kalari is truly a unique place. Marmas are the 108 pressure points within the body usually close to the surface of the skin, where important nerve form junctures with muscles fibers, veins, bones and joints. Marmas are the vital points of the body. Prana (life energy) flows through the body channeled through the marmas. A marma point is a juncture on the body where two or more types of tissues meet-such as muscles, veins, ligaments, bones or joints and where the prana is present. Any disturbance or trauma to these marma points manifests as severe pain, deformity or even death. Marma Therapy means with the spiritual thoughts, blessings from the God and Masters and with mental power, the Gurukkal treats and heals injuries by manipulating these vital points in the humanbody. Marma chikilsa employs many medicinal oils and herbal preparations to treat a wide range of diseases through manipulation and massage techniques so sophisticated, that they are unmatched even in this modern age.
